...taking a short break, I flip on Channel 4 and the afternoon film, Warlords of Atlantis where I find Michael Gothard! in a blonde wig and gorgeous silver frock, very Mary Quant. There's an awful lot of bronzed male thigh on show all over aamof, silvery Stig-like helmits and rubber sea-monsters and James Onedin! and Doug McClure!  Yea verily, the stupid is stupid and everything is very poor indeed and yet, I cannot look away!

Highly recommended.

But I must get back to my scrubbing, these cushions won't poof themselves.

::squishes Gilly, not having done that for far too long::

Can't say I know anything about anybody here (except I do remember Doug McClure, and I can't remotely imagine him adding to the believability in any movie involving sea monsters and helmets). But "an awful lot of bronzed male thigh on show" -- depending on the thigh in question, not a bad reason for not being able to look away? Especially when combined with the allure of truly cheesy Stupid... :-)

For some reason no one has informed me about these comments! Why LJ, why?!

So good to hear from you O Delghtful one! I hope you (and your Mom) are alright.

The film was fabulously stupid in the best Ed Wood tradition. I remember going to see another like it, also with the wonderful Doug McC (ah, Trampas! How I loved thee) when they journeyed to the centre of the Earth or somesuch, at the cinema, when I was much younger than I am now. I suspect this is a sequel of some sort.

Anyway, it all seems to be on You Tube, scroll down for the link.

Take very, very good care, m'darlin. Have a gorgeous Easter. ♥

Drat! Did I miss bronzed man-thighs again? You find all the good stuff - whenever I randomly switch on the TV all I get are strangely hyped-up people flogging their family old tat. Not a bronze thigh amongst them.

I'm sorry to say you did, babe. Michael Gothard's silver mini and Sassoon do was a sight for very sore eyes, I can tell you. I'm sure it must be 'available' somewhere. Worth a look if only for the cheap laffs. ::she nodded sagely::

It's all over You Tube! Michael Gothard first appears at about 1.30.

Another one to watch out for indeed. I'm sure a hoary old VHS could be dug up somewhere, or maybe it's 'available'?

Had a look, it's all over You Tube!

Wow. There's 10 minutes of my life I'll never see again... *g* Thanks for posting the link - worth it for the bronzed thighs.
Still LMAO at that monster-thing from the water. What was that all about? They all just stood there and looked at it, while it had a grumble then sunk back into the water. I was thinking it was some sort of domestic guard-beast, not threatening in the slightest.

He comes into his own later in the film. Raised on Who as I was, I can take anything green and rubbery you care to hurl at me without batting an eye.
