It's looking suspiciously like You Tube is to blame for my computer troubles. Having tentatively re-installed Mozilla - no problems - and my favourite fonts - no problems - I've been back to You Tube and within 12 hours, my sound and video files have been corrupted and the cursor trouble returned - re-installed the files, restarted, the comp; checked all was well (ticks boxes) - went back to You Tube - re-corrupted! O:

This is a blow. I use YT a lot and I'm not really sure why this is happening. I'm assuming something they're uploading is conflicting with my drivers. I've had java issues in the past, but never so severely as of late, and never so badly that I had the computer's most basic functions so badly affected.

Trouble is,  I'm a writer and the main reason I have this laptop is to do my job, and the jumping cursor was seriously messing with my ability to work and stay sane, so... I guess I'll have to forego YT for the forseeable, which saddens me deeply, but I just can't take the risk of my 'late troubles' happening again. )o:

Has anyone else had this problem?

Ouch. I visit YouTube frequently, also use Firefox browser and don't experience any problems. I guess this doesn't help you though.

I always used it without trouble before. I'm assuming it's a conflict problem, but I don't know where! I've stripped the laptop down to its barest essentials...

I'm working on it. ::is trying to smile::

Good luck with that.

I have an iMac. I use Safari to browse and I've never had trouble with YouTube. *TOUCH WOOD!!!*

I never had problems till recently. It's a mystery.

Ah, I yearn for my mac. When my old one finally gave up the ghost, I just couldn;t afford to replace it and had to downgrade to a pc. I miss my Mac. )o:

I so hope we'll always be able to use Macs. I've been forced to use PC's in the past and they are so damn picky and complicated to use.

Luckily, J. is a Graphic Illustrator and when he retires next year he may do consulting for the company he works for now and he will HAVE to have a Mac for that. Yay! =>}

hey Gilly,

I'll put a hex on you You Tube if you want! I'm so sorry to hear this about your computer woes, and glad that you finally discovered that You tube is the bad guy!

Please take care of this tiredness that's afflicting you. It's the second time you've had to deal with this.

Hugs,

Judy

Thanks baby, but please don;t hex You Tube! I loves YT! ::G::

It's some sort of java conflict on my machine, I know that, but.... what? Where? And WHY...? These are The Big Questions confronting me right now (o:

The tiredness comes and goes, nothing to worry about. It just comes with the territory of being a useless, idle sod. heh heh heh. but thanks for being concerned. ::smiles sweetly in your general direction::
