I'm glad you've enjoyed the site but it's not just about the money, the only thing anyone has mentioned is the downloads - no one seems to care much about the site as a whole and the downloads bring me nothing but sadness and grief. I might move the reports and my fic to free space but unless anyone else wants to take on the thankless task of hosting the eps and the rest, I'm afraid they'll be coming down with the rest of it in the new year.

Doing a quick look-through - yeah, I've never used any of your site's features except for the downloads. Is any of the fic hosted yours? Certainly any fic removed from the community is a sadness, but there are other places to host fic.

Yes, most of the fic is mine. Text files are not a worry, they can go elsewhere but the fact that all anyone seems to care about is the downloads a constant annoyance, tbh, and has been for some time.

Once downloaded, you can burn the files to disc yourself, you know. It's what I do myself with stuff I get online but want to watch a lot.

I'm a software engineer; but the line between what I'm very good at and very, very bad at is jagged and not terribly logical; burning discs is firmly on the bad-at side. I'd rather invent a new compression scheme for data than have to make hardware work (or most software that I haven't written myself).

Yeah, this is my problem - but you really are doing a service!
