Welcome to my perfumed garden

Not good news. She has a tumour in her stomach; the doctor's giving her days. We don't want her in hospital, she's staying home - a nurse is coming later to sort out some pain and anti-vomiting medicine and generally try and make her comfortable. It's not a shock; the way she's been this week - she can't keep anything down, she looks like a little doll; she looks like she's made of paper.

So we're just waiting, really.

I don't know what we're going to do with Dad. We can't tell him, he has no short-term memory at all and won't be able to take it on board. It's going to be much worse when she's gone. He won't remember; he'll keep looking for her and asking where she is. Mum is his whole life.

My dad is distraught. They've been together since mum was 17. It's breaking my heart to see him.
