Oh good grief.

What the merry heck???

A lunatic with a gun has gone on the rampage in Cumbria.

These are villages I know really well, it's the least likely place I can think of for something like this to happen. Tragic and horrible and bizarre.

ETA: The guy may have shot himself. Gods, this thing is horrific. ):

In other news, I have been striken by the Gods in the form of a very bad back. I'm in quite a ludicrous amount of pain and am not supposed to spend much time on the computer (looks shifty). The one good thing about this rather unpleasant state of affairs is the bad-ass drugs the lovely NHS has provided me with. They don't look like a carrot but have tended to make me extraordinarily high and this is by way of an advance apology for anything I might say or do for the next several days - it may not go well. You have been warned.

Oh, that's horrific (and I thought it was my people who were supposed to be going on armed rampages, not yours...) - my condolences to all of you, but particularly to the people who knew the victims...

I thought it was my people

Oh, we have our moments too, sadly, like in '94 when one bastard took out a class of 4 and 5 years olds - and their teacher - at their school in Dunblaine. Our gun laws are quite strict and gon-ownership is rare, but shotguns are legal and in a rural area like Cumbria, not unusual. We still don't know what provoked this bizarre killing spree, I suppose it'll all come out eventually. It's all so horrible and so hard to understand. .
