Very astute of Mark. Most drummers are insane. They either die, self-inflicted, or accidents, or someone kills them, or they go completely mad from booze and drugs. I guess it's the nature of the beast. It's the drummer who drives the band, especially heavy metal and hard rock, and he can't stop for rest periods. Blood pressure skyrockets, and I'm sure all that banging rattles more than a few brain cells too. Most bassists are crazy too. They work in concert with the drummer,or at least they should, and although the singer and the lead guitar get all the glory, it's the bassist and the drummer who work and sweat their asses off who make the band great.
