...It was 20 years ago today.
On BBC2 right now - Anyone else watching it? Various bands - Stereophonics, Kaiser Chiefs, Travis, Razorlight amongst others - all given a S.P. track to recreate, in the same studio, with the same 4 track equipment, using the same techniques - tea towls on drums, a comb and paper in a stairwell (lovely Rita) -
What's really interesting that they all, without excepton, sound like tribute bands, there's nothing of the individual bands coming through at all. I don't know what I'm to infer from that; nothing at all, probably ::G::, it's just.... interesting.
