For chatters at The Temple...

The 'chat room 2' link on the front page should now take you to a new chatroom. I've used this room on another website and it seems fairly fast and stable. I suggest we give it a test run this Sunday, see how it goes.

There's one other new chat room we can also try if this one's no good.

As you know, problems with the chat have been many and various lately. I've been trying to fix up a new chat room this afternoon, without success since the web hosts own servers have gone down, which means, right now, the message board and chat room 2 are both inaccessible.

::heaves heavy, despairing sigh::

It may be that they fix the problem soon, but I'd suggest for today, you use chat room 1. Of course, this only takes 10 people at a time so if you want to take part, you should get there early. (o:

Chat room 2 and the message board on my site have been down most of the day and, unless they recover quickly, those intending to chat tonight are not going to be able to do it in the usual place.

Only the php hosted sectors are affected; chat room 1 is still functioning - it only takes 10 people but might be your best bet at short notice.

I've sent a series of messages to poweb, who host my site; not had a response yet. I don't know what the problem is, but it's at their end; nothing I can fix.

Poweb themselves have added a range of chatrooms to a list of new add-ons they're now providing. I'll look into changing the main chat room to one of theirs - but that's not something I can alter in the next half hour, I'm afraid

The quality is pretty dire, but just about watchable and well worth the effort, IMO.

OK. After more irate emails to poweb support, my unbelievably unhelpful web hosts - having denied to the last breath intheir bodies that there was anything wrong, I see the message board is now working normally. Did they tweak something? Or is it just a coincidence? It's a mystery. :D

Anyway - it's fine, for now, at least, and I can go back to doing my galleries.
