Got up at 5am; got the next chapter of Entanglement planned (in massive detail - no more weird tangents for me thank you) and 3,200 words of Angel Dust (part 2 of the Rainbows story) written so I'm a happy bunny. (o: It seems the only way to get anything done here is to get up really early and crack on before the hoose stirs.

So now I'm sitting with well-earned coffee and a couple of slices of toast and marmite, waiting for a builder for quotes for the path, fence and missing roof tile. Later, we have a christening down in Grenoside.

My life is so exciting I often wonder how I stand it.

A virtual Mars bar for the first to spot the line of bitter sarcasm in the above post.

Sarcasm? What sarcasm?

Is it buttery marmite toast?

'Is it buttery marmite toast?'
Indeed it is - was; long gone now, alas, though I'm thinking of having some more...

The bulder has been and gone; a jolly soul called Billy. He had the vaguely intellectual look of a writer who used to be big in the sixties and now makes a living giving lectures (but has a screenplay that's been doing the rounds for many years but of which he still harbours hopes.)I really liked him and he's the only builder so far to suggest the broken path could be fixed rather than replaced so he scores big points.

::cuddles you unmercifully::

I am sad because I didn't wake up until 8.00, so missed my early PC time, and it will be bye-bye computer in a minute - both kids are up and restless. Yet I want to sit here and chat and write and surf all day... ::cries::

Mm, toast. Crap, I'm out of marmite, will have to be peanut butter...

Oooh, peanut butter! Perfect when you're in the mood (I typed 'in the mod' which conjours strange impressions of Bev doing strange things to Vince Moon).

::Huggles you back with a Toquemadaesque lack of mercy::
I've been extraordinarily depressed these past few days because I just can't work at all - our house has always been a busy, noisy place but it seems worse, somehow, since we lost Mum. Lack of progress was doing m'heed in but if I can keep up the early starts, I may have cracked it - 2,900 words of new Rainbows chapter that I'll be posting later, plus 300 words at the start of the last chapter which, on reflection, might have been a bit previous in its opening - if you know what I mean. (o: That's the most writing I've done in weeks.

I feel your PC pain honey; vibing away here in hope your new power lead arrives soon and thus sanity may be restored.

I hope you're having a good day, anyway for yeah, verily, tis pissing it down here.

Is DW still on UKG on Sunday mornings? (I don't get it anymore). LOLed mightily at the icon - had to crane a bit to read it but... ::chortle::

Curse you for giving me the marmite cravings! Still, it makes for a more healthy breakfast than the one I'm currently eating -- praline ice cream and chocolate mousse.

Enjoy your exciting Sunday!

'praline ice cream and chocolate mousse.'
Oh! Oh! *wants* - the best breakfast of all is, of course, cold pizza, pref. still in (and stuck to) the box.

'Enjoy your exciting Sunday!'
::sigh:: OK. Yeah, well - once the Christening is out of the way there's a double dose of Cranford and TG top look forward to (and I say this with no hint of sarcasm whatsoever!) *G*
Apparently Lewis Hamilton gets thrashed by The Stig (but not in a sexy way, alas).

I tend to prefer hot pizza than cold pizza for breakfast, though I realise that this makes me odd. Can't be beat.

When I read that last sentence of yours I got ridiculously excited for a moment. Unfortunately, then I read the last bit.

I am lucky! I have two Top Gear eps to catch up on from Nano as well! YAY!

Congrtulations to this happy early writing bunny!
I always work better in the stillness of a night or an early morning.
And I am very grateful your Rainbow Muse is by your side .
Sending special good vibes for writers to you.

I'm not shameless, I'm hungry! But I bet your life is more exciting than mine right now. At least you have coffee... *Shuffles off to make coffee*

heh. Coffee as the highlight of the day... I could go with that if it weren't for wine and whisky. (o:

Writing!Gilly. ::smooches you::

Sucks that you have to sneak in time for it instead of sleeping. But I'm so glad you are! (Writing, not sleeping less. Did that come out right?)

::pets your sarcasm tenderly:: See, marmite would be exciting to me. I tasted it once, so many years ago I no longer remember anything about it except that it was brown. Salty, maybe?

(Man, I love Firefox. My power blipped off just when I got ready to hit the post button -- and Blessed Firefox still had my comment in its thoughtful little head waiting for me when I rebooted. Not that it's scintillating or anything. But it's the principle of the thing.)

And 'Homer Simpson voice'? ::quivers::

Or was that Vegemite...

posted by [identity profile] gillyp.livejournal.com at 02:33pm on 02/12/2007
They are very similar - yeast extracts, brown, sticky, salty; v good for you, they say; rich in vitamin B - Vegemite's the Australian version, slightly less thick and slightly sweeter, to my tastebuds than Marmite.

I have written, it is done... (o:

I don't mind being up early, tbh; the house is lovely and quiet though it's always a bit freaky being up when it's so very dark.

And word on Firefox, indeed. I wouldn't use anything else. ::shakes head vehemently::

But... Homer makes you quiver? ::backs away fearfully::

posted by [identity profile] t-verano.livejournal.com at 02:52pm on 02/12/2007
Not *that* kind of quiver. ::rolls eyes::

::a little wildly::

Eeee! More Rainbows!

If I wake up early and I'm coherent enough I like to write then too. I can't write when it's chaotic around me. Usually, I'm good because our kids are grown and out of the house. I lilke to go for a walk sometimes to get thinky about what I'm going to write, that tends to work well.

I hven't had breakfast yet. just water since my cold is making me dehydrated.

so selfishly happy to hear you've gotten more done on your stories. Looking forward to reading them when they are turned loose in the world.
Forgive any typos, I can hardly see what I'm writing, the type is so light and tiny.

LOL! If you get to have builders in AND go to christenings, your life is a heck of a lot more exciting than mine! *g*

At least, it will be until our grandbaby comes. =>}
