Words on Entanglement this morning; just a bit of exposition in which Matt asks about his sister and Angel shows us he can travel to the Other Side (cue spooky music). And I finally found a working word meter.

Not too bad for three days work.

I haven't been able to get any work done on my fics for 2 days now; afternoons have been a bit fraught - today, hopefully.
Just for the hell of it, the Academy fic is now...

Well done, you! And wow you found word meters. I've been looking for one for ages ::snaffles link::

All I've done today, writing-wise, is tidy up what I did yesterday, which brings me up to 63,700 approx. I will probably do a bit more over the next hour or two while the washing is on. After that I've got practice like a mad thing and find something decent to wear, because I am playing with a ceili band tonight in Blackburn.

That's the day ahead for me! Hope yours is a good 'un ::huggles::

'you found word meters...'
It took ages. And they only work intermittently.

That's going to be one heck of a story, hon. At risk of sounding like a broken record, I'm SO looking forward to seeing it.

Enjoy your day and have a brilliant time tonight.

I am so looking forward to finishing and sharing it!

It's weird, doing it all by myself like this when I'm so used to writing long stories as WIPs. In some ways it's great - I have done loads of retrospective changes to make the plot tighter etc, and will no doubt do more as and when necessary. But it's weird to finish a bit I'm really happy with, and have no one to show it to (or get fb from *g*). I keep wanting to go, "Hey guys look at this bit! Tell me what you think!" but I can't! LOL

I am going to keep soldiering on. I'm now nearly 64,500 words and even though I'm busy tonight, I plan to have a dedicated writing day tomorrow. I wouldn't say the end is in sight, but it's a hell of a lot closer! :-)

It's nice to ramble like this to you when you're writing too. If I don't talk to *someone* about it as I write, I will go nuts! I don't think I'm made for solitary pursuits :-)

I just reread Chasing Rainbows (which I already told you i loved) and then read Angel Dust. What an interesting universe! Like everyone, I do miss Star - there's something oddly appealing about Blair as a 6 year old! The sequel must have been difficult to conceptualize - I found myself wondering whether there really could be such a thing as a soul capture (how seriously dreadful), and how I would react if I were in Jim's oh-so-rational shoes. Lovely stuff - thank you so much! Now, if it's not too much trouble, could you hurry up and write about that nasty Palmer getting his comeuppance....? :-)

Shamen certainly believe in soul capture - fetching a soul back from the dead is a mainstay of shamanic medicine and has echoes in all mythologies that I know of (where the hero goes to the underworld to fetch back a dead or lost soul). The fact that Jim does this in *canon* screams not Sentinel, but *Shaman* to me and I wanted to investigate that whole side of TS that just gets glossed over on the show - Jim fetches his li'l bud back from the dead; Blair is passed 'the way of the shaman' and - NOTHING HAPPENS! I mean, WHAT?! Come ON! *G*

CR was all about that moment in S2-2 when Incacha, having passed Jim's care and keeping on to Blair, then tells Jim to leave him behind while he goes on to the Temple because it's 'too dangerous' (urm, he just got out of hospital and you're leaving him behind in a jungle and the *temple's* too dangerous for him?). It's always puzzled and irritated me so for the sake if my sanity I had to work it all out in a fic.

Part three... Will happen sometime this year, I hope, but I'm mired in another WIP right now.

'write about that nasty Palmer getting his comeuppance'
What makes you think he's getting his comeuppance? *g*
The next story is going to be about Jim and his shaman abilities and Star will be making a reappearance, possibly Simon and Olwen, too - and that's about all I know about it right now.

I'm really glad you enjoyed both stories. Thanks so much for taking the time to say so. (o:
