Jikes, I hate it when that happens, even though I don't like to admit being an Internet junky. I can easily spend a few hours (or even a day, go figure!) away from it, but only when it's my personal choice. To have an Internet abstinence forced on you sucks big time.

i'm glad i have cable internet. even so, if my 'net died, i'd just stitch, assuming the lights hadn't died, too. of course, i'm well-equipped to handle net-outage: i go SCA-camping regularly, and refuse to bring my laptop along. *despite* the fact that there are a lot of events with internet cafes set up - especially longer events like Gulf Wars or Pennsics.
