I has lurgi germs

Whatever bastard man-flu Mark's had all weekend (while I was away fangirling) he's given to me.

The bad news:
I feel terrible.

The good news: I don't have to go to Liverpool and sit in the Skoda garage, staring at the dust blowing down Scottie Road for three hours while the car gets serviced. Instead, I can recline on a couch, looking fragile, drinking hot ribena, reading and re-watching 'Blackpool*' and 'The Lakes**' on my lappy.

All in all, I think I'm getting the better part of the deal.

And I can waste my time on

Synesthesia, huh? Well, my psych-grad roomie diagnosed that particular weirdness for me many moons ago.

You posted twice, poppet :-)

And oh god lurgi - me too. Feel like crap. My kids are home too - Ro woke up with a temp of 99 degrees, and Eoin is a bit better but not much since he is sneezing everywhere. I rang the school, and apparently they've had loads of people keep their kids off with the same thing. Yay, epidemic!

I just noticed...

LJ is behaving really oddly. First the dutifully placed cuts didn't show up, then it's posted twice for no apparent. It's really slow, too

Sorry to hear you and the lads are poorly again. My lurgi is really weird; I feel ridiculously weak and out-of-bodyish, feel madly dizzy when I stand. Other than that, just a vague headyachey, not-hungry, not-quite-right sort of feeling.

Sounds awful! (Especially before I knew what "lurgi" was) Rest well and feel better soon.
I've been having problems too. It seems that some things are posting fine(my sentinel thursday post) and others aren't (ones to my lj).

heh heh heh. I just googled it myself to see what it says out there. It comes from The Goons originally? Well bless my silly old sausage of a soul, I had no idea. *g*

bless my silly old sausage of a soul

::pets that phrase lovingly::

Lest you think I merely stopped by to admire the phraseology (I'm about to pet something [livejournal.com profile] snycock said, too), I'm really and truly here to wish you Feeling Better Fast wishes. I hope you and your body are beginning to reunite (but only pleasantly, not to aches and pains and other nasties).

I'm sorry to hear that you feel so poorly, but I'm glad that there's a silver lining for you. I hope you can soon have one without the other.

All the best!

::hugs::

And hugs to you too

Hope you had a good weekend. Mine was spent at Southport Beach in the company of fangirls. It doesn't get much better than that. (o:

Congratulations on getting out of taking the car and commiserations on the lurgi. There's a lot of it about...
::nods sagely::
I hope you start to feel better soon

[identity profile] gillyp.livejournal.com 2008-03-12 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks hon. I hope you yourself stay germ free and a joy to manage... sorry; I didn't mean to start quoting Python then. Blame it on the aspirin.

Sorry to hear that you feel like crap. Get better, okay.

Crap's not quite the word; oddly out of it's more like it. I'm having a strange out-of-body experience - very dizzy and obscenely tired. And I can't face coffee, only tea. It's very strange. (o:

[identity profile] snycock.livejournal.com 2008-03-12 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
Man, you have really been the all-night party stop for germs this winter! :o( I hope you feel better soon... at least you got out of taking the car in...

It's the strangest bug ever.

[identity profile] gillyp.livejournal.com 2008-03-12 10:39 am (UTC)(link)
Makes me feel all floaty. Not unpleasant, really, till you have to stand up. Mark had the exact same symptoms so it's clearly something viral that's a messin' with our biology. It really is a most peculiar set of symptoms, though. ::Thinks. Looks pondery. Gives up. Goes back to reading porn::

you have really been the all-night party stop for germs this winter<

It's really insensitive of me to be enjoying Gilly's Lurg post as literary entertainment, but I can't help myself -- I really like that phrase. (Although it would be awfully nice for Gilly if it wasn't so unfortunately true ::hugs Gilly::)

::hugs you, and "all-night party stop for germs"::

i got 60% wired for creativity. but i do weird things - i don't envision *numbers* or *letters* as different colors so much as *equations* and *words* as different colors, textures, tastes, emotional feel. it's weird.

and how a word is spelled makes a big emotional difference in that word to me - 'honour' is way different to my brain than 'honor', for example. oh, well.

i hope you're feeling better. ::hugs::

Feeling worse...

[identity profile] gillyp.livejournal.com 2008-03-12 01:01 pm (UTC)(link)
But on the way up the other side, hopefully. I comfort myself with tea and watching 'Blackpool' on my lappy. It could be a whole lot worse. Thanks for the good wishes. (o:

Oh noes - not you too! There is SOMETHING GOING ROUND for sure... I'm frantically avoiding everyone who even looks like they're going to sneeze.

Feel better soon hon.

::sends squishy hugs and strong booze::

There is SOMETHING GOING ROUND

[identity profile] gillyp.livejournal.com 2008-03-12 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
So it would seem, hon. I hope you manage to stay germ-free. I've spent a very quiet day napping and watching DVDs and I'm feeling a bit better this evening, thanks.

Thanks for the hugs; the booze will have to be virtual, I don't have a drop of the real thing. )o:

That's a rather gorgeous icon you have there, hon.

Ack - you poor love - you sound proper poorly... I wish I could force some hooch down the line to you to perk you up a bit... stupid technology never does what you want it to. ::kicks broadband::

Can you maybe send the man out for supplies? Sometimes they respond to "I need brandy/chocolate/Chinese food or I will die." Not often, but worth a shot *g*

Feel better soon hon.
