Oh yes. I am. Bigtime. Worse today, if anything.

This is a really nasty bug - not so nasty as to completely prostrate; I could walk round to the shops if I needed to, but I'd probably be in a state when I got there. If the other sicklings on the flist want to compare and contrast, I has big headache, ache like a bugger, feel intermittently sick and just so damn tired.

And bored. Incredibly bored. I have a ton of stuff I want to read, on the lappy, on the palm, not to mention the pile of EDAs awaiting my attention, but reading is turning my already-monster headache into something from the M25 route to Hell (and Bev, baby, I am reading TNT and just loving it but circs are keeping me from reading and I don't want to comment till I've read it all but, oh lordy, I do love it so and wish I were able to finish it!) There's a heap of things on my palm I'm aching to read right now but any kind of screen is strobing on my retinas like one of  Michael Fish's jackets. This does not make me feel good. Ergo, I cannot read - or write - or even spend much time on LJ. This is making me sad. And bored. Oh so bloody bored...

So I'm kinda stuck with the radio and telly (for 'telly' read downloads and discs; there's bugger all on t' telly that I can see, not even on ITV3 or 4 shock horror; not even an eppy of Randall and Hopkirk today. )o:)  I've been enjoying Funland, for all its twisted darkness; re-watching Blackpool of course, and LOM and The Lakes and Mighty Boosh 3 but I'm running out of stuff...

So, any recommendations? Stuff that's either on TV in the UK; terrestrial or satellite - or something downloadable; something glorious I might have missed?

And now I have to stop because this is making my head explode.

([personal profile] t_verano - sugar, thanks so much for your lovely and insightful comments! I will get back to you as soon as my head stops feeling like it's about to make a new home for itself in a crusher.)

::hugs gently and passes paracetamol:: Poor you :-( Sorry to hear that the germs are still circling, honey! I hope you start to feel better really really soon. UK TV sucks, doesn't it?

Not sure what to suggest that's on TV, since I barely watch any of it these days either, but would definitely recommend Supernatural to download if you haven't managed to catch it yet. (The SPN obsession has taken over my life, I swear) If you enjoy h/c, angst (oh my god the angst), banter and general wibbleness, not to mention unbelievably pretty boys to drool over, you can't get much better imo (not that I'm biased or anything). If you're interested let me know and I'll send you links to download sites.

PS...on a completely different note, if you're up to it, I'm in the middle of converting my Sentinel DVDs (I have all four seasons on my homemade DVDs, seriously good quality if I do say so myself *G*) into 350mb avi files so that I can make better quality Sentinel songvids.

I know you upload episodes to your site so that people can watch them for the Temple chats...are there any episodes you're missing, or that you don't have good quality versions of that I can help out with? I should end up with a complete set in a couple of weeks once it's all done (I'm halfway through season two right now), and I'll happily drop some discs into the post for you if you want them.

Feel better, sweetheart, and tell Mark to take good care of you in the meantime :-) ::hugs::

Hey baby; thanks for the kind thoughts...

TS, I already have a full set x 2, sometimes 3 on DVD thanks for the offer hon.

Ah. SPN... Heck...
Leaves me colder than a three-week dead eel I'm afraid. I have tried but I really can't see the pretty and I can't get into the stories; like Torchwood and A2A I've accepted that I will forever fail to see what others see and have given up trying. (sorry. I know how hard it is when you're in luuurve with a show and others fail to 'get it'. I'm feeling a bit that way myself with my never-ending 'Blackpool' love that no one else seems to share. At least you're not alone in your SPN-fangurling. *g*)

I hope life is treating you a little more kindly these days. ♥

Hi hon, no worries at all re: SPN...to each their own! It was just the first thing that came to my mind (as it usually is these days!) :-) Same for TS...it was just a thought in case you were missing any downloadable files of episodes, no harm no foul. ::hugs::

and adding some chocolate and kisses.

I'm just compiling my 'list 10 characters you wouldn't kick out of bed' meme thingy... Amazing where the mind goes when you set it to work on such things. ::giggle::

::hugs Gilly gently:: I'm sorry that you're so sick. It sounds like this bug is getting pretty much everyone, sooner or later. I really hope you're feeling better soon.

Have you seen NCIS? I love that series, especially the first two seasons. There's also a fairly obscure TV series called "Veritas: The Quest" that I love. It's got a mix of archaeology and myth, so I find it interesting, but I don't know enough to notice how much they got wrong. :oD

It was shown in its entirely (13 eps) on the UK Sci-Fi channel, though the US only got the first 4 before it wsa cancelled. I don't know how available it is, but I have the complete series on DVD (fairly okay quality) and video if you wanted to borrow and copy it. I bought the DVD set off someone on the internet who'd managed to get the complete series somehow. Details about it are here:
http://www.tv.com/veritas-the-quest/show/10099/summary.html?q=&tag=search_results;title;1

There's also Firefly. That's fun.

Hope you find something to keep you interested.

They are much appreciated. (o: I feel a little better, I just ate a little toast. All that tea must finally be working its magic.

Firefly I know well and have seen Veritas (though I can't remember much about it, tbh).

I'm afraid NCIS is another one that I just never could get into. I see all the luurve around LJ but it does nothing for me. Weird, isn't it? How we all share the TS Love but diverge wildly over other stuff. Tis one of the joys of being human I guess. *g*

Have you ever seen The Visitor, a series from a few years back that starred John Corbett as a returned abductee on the run from the army and FBI? I adored that but have never found anyone else who shared my deep and abiding love. ::sigh:: I could find it, I could re-watch that. I'll try and dig it out from the hell that is my DVD shelf...

edited for typo-ness.

Hey, I'm pretty sure I know someone else who loves The Visitor! I'm sure a friend of mine in America raved about it to me. That same person, btw, has tried NCIS and, like you, couldn't get into it at all. She's also the one who got me in Veritas.

I'll have to try to find The Visitor to watch. It's bound to be on YouTube in some form or another. :oD

It's weird how some series grab you and others just don't do a thing for you, isn't it?

Hope you manage to find something good to watch. Maybe it'll give you sweet dreams. ::hugs::

Hey, just take care of yourself, please -- don't worry about answering! (*Never* worry about that, 'kay?) Just rest, and hopefully feel much better very soon, like yesterday.

::gentle hugs, that I wish could include some serious healing mojo; to not feel well enough to read is just pouring injury on top of injury::

Because I can. Thanks for the kindly thoughts, hon.

I'm starting to feel a little better, thanks - the nausea is retreating though my head still pounds like a SOB. Hey ho... what does not kill us etc. etc. I'm getting by on Doctor Who and gallons of tea; I think I shall live... (o:

Oh honeybunch - you poor old thing - what on earth have you caught, and is it too late to give it back?

Feel better soon babe.

::snuggles you gently to small but motherly bosom::

I think Mark gave it to me - I couldn't give it back to him, poor lamb; he's a man, he'd feel so much worse than I do.

Meep. Motherly bosoms... Small, but pleasingly smothering...

I wish we could sneeze in the same room oh yes I do.

No recommendations at all, because kids' TV is all I'm seeing ::cries::. And I *have not* seen Blackpool, which must be some kind of a sin because (a) Tennant and (b) I am from there yo! SO I will endeavor to watch it one of these days, if I can find it to download from somewhere, because I have a feeling my edumacation is lacking in that area. Then, perhaps, we cans squee together? ::hopeful::

Come see me, soon? Easter? ::puppy dog eyes:: Or, you give me a date and I will move hell and high water to fit you in ::nudge nudge wink wink::

I am squeeing like a mad sneezy squeeing thing that you like TNT! But no hurry, my dear. Read it when the time is right ::squishes you like a shameless doxy::

Illness is a horrid, bad, horrible thing, isn't it? You're still sick as well? ::hugs Bev in a large, soft, eucalyptus-scented love-blankie::

And meep! No Blackpool? Honey! You have to see it! Blackpool locations! Singing and dancing!! Naked Tennant love scenes!!! I have it on my external HD but I'm not having much luck burning to disc these days or I'd do it for you in a trice. You can download it from http: // thebox .bz if you do bit torrents? Otherwise I'll have another crack at burning for you - or I could send you the raw files for you to burn? - There's a ton of it on You Tube of course. Oh, it's a joy! It's become something of an obsession with me lately - hence the rash of DI Carlisle icons (see above) *g*

Gods, I'd love to come and stay. I've another fangirl weekend already booked in Matlock on April 25th and Easter's hard because it's family time. Can I email some likely dates to you? I'd love to come up for a squeeful weekend (and the new DW series starts soon...) but I need so much advance planning these days.

I've been reading TNT this afternoon, between naps. Oh babe; you are the angst-meister! I can only read in short bursts because it does a number on my ever-present headache but... getting there. It's wonderful.
ext_14365: If you made this, tell me and I'll credit (Default)
Woo! I will try the bit torrent option once the lads are off the main PC - downloading on the ancient lappy just is not a goer. Thanks for the link! It is shameful that I have not yet seen Blackpool, under the circumstances.

As regards dates - send away! I will fit in around you. I really, really would love to see you whenever you can make it, honeybun. I'm sure we can work it out if we try. Don't feel pressured though - I want it to be a fun, relaxing time for you if/when it happens. I will never get tired of asking, no matter how busy you are :-)

::pets your poor head:: I am absolutely delighted you like TNT. I keep expecting someone to write to me and say, "Who are these people you call Jim and Blair?" which has not *quite* happened yet, but it is a likelihood ::grins unrepentantly::. Angst is my lifeblood, and I am a longtime fantasy fan at heart, so it makes me happy no matter what people think!

When you feel better, perhaps more Academy fic at some point? Oh the angst she hurts so good! *g*

Ah... way to kill me with guilt!

I hit a real block with it and then I've been too tired/busy/sick - and then the block made me scared to even look at it again, daft though I know that sounds. T-V has been commenting and that made me look at it again and I think I might be up for writing some more when I can look at a screen again.

I shall email soe dates then, baby - I'll check the diary tomorrow and get back to you; I'd love to see you so much ♥

I have no telly recs, but have a hug of sympathy. Too headachey to read is a rotten condition to be in.

To be sure. I spent an odd afternoon alternately reading Bev's Night Terrors, a wild Ten/Master slash-fic and fever-napping, which led to some unusual dreams. *g*

Oh, dear! Headaches just ... i don't know - the worst thing after toothaches :-) Have you ever tried hot strong sweet tea as a remedy? It always helps me. Get better!
Sorry, can't help you with recommendations :-) I prefer in the same situations to watch something like "Roman holidays", "Pride and prejudice" with Laurence Olivier, "Mary Poppins" or "Singing in the rain" :-), sort of remedy too.

Ah SGA (did you mean SGA?) is yet another I can't get into - does nothing for me I'm afraid.

S'OK anyway; I've been re-watching LOM and Doctor Who and I'm fine now. (o:

no, i meant C - SCA is 'Society for the Creative Anachronism', an historical re-creation society. 'historical', in this case, being 'from the fall of rome to the end of the elizabethan era', covering the entire knowne world of that era. the local kingdom hosts a big event called Gulf Wars that lasts a week. think 3300 people on site, and being able to field over 700 men and women in the heavy combat field. it's pretty awesome. plus the merchants, arts and sciences, completely amazing.

i was called into Kingdom Court at War and presented with an award, which is why i'm so utterly flying high as a kite. here, have some giddy happiness! :-D
