I smell of dust, old books and bluebells. Why is this not shown in the US? (Reply).

Ah. It's always good crack but the voting is insanely political now and it ruins the evening. I always come away depressed about the human race. I'm seriously starting to doubt if most of Western Europe will stay now. The UK, France and Germany pay for it (and it costs many millions), which is the only reason any W European countries are still in it (bar the Scandinavians who, likewise, always vote for each other) since those who bankroll have to be there. veryone else is squeezed out in the semis because the Baltic states and Balkans and East Europeans always vote for each other. Truly great Eurovision countries like Ireland (who used to win year after year) never make it into the contest anymore.
If Terry Wogan leaves, and I'm certain he will (he was seriously pissed off with the voting last night), the show will be over for the Brits - he's the only thing that makes it still worth watching. A pity, but I think it's probably time.
