on Silence in the Library...

Which I enjoyed - very much so - but wasn't... was somehow... Gosh, I dunno really. ::shrugs helplessly:: Unsatisfying. Not at all scary. Not as good as I'd thought it was going to be.

Bearing in mind I was watching with my sister who insisted on talking all the way through so I may have missed bits here and there - so I'm reserving judgement till I see the repeat tomorrow.

But first impressions... seven out of ten? No, six... Make it 6 and a half. But that might change on a second viewing.
Mood:: 'lethargic' lethargic
location: Watching Top Gear

I think maybe your sister spoiled it for you by ruining the atmosphere, stopping you getting properly sucked in - bad sister! On the other hand, I remember feeling like that about Blink, so maybe it's just that shadows simply aren't scary for you.

Nice idea, but didn't do it for me, really. Blink didn't scare me either (I'm starting to think I'm not easily scared. (o:) - but I found that a far more involving story.

An interesting one for sure - I especially enjoyed the LOM-style inserts with the little girl and the 'is she a computer/River/whatever?' speculation but... ::sigh:: I don't know; my expectations were too high I think. I'll be watching again tomorrow, see how I feel when I get to see it properly.

Ha ha ha! I'm on a library list and when I saw 'on Silence in the Library' I started reading without looking at the LJicon. I thought it was going to be about 'shushing' vs. allowing cell phones in libraries (a common topic). In light of that, your first sentence was so funny. (Well, librarians have a strange sense of humour!)

Kay.

*g*

Which bit was funny? really, I write comedy for a living so maybe it's leaking though into my regular, everyday sentences. *g* ::is genuinely confused::

Sorry, just crying in the corner here because I have to wait until the down under PTB get around to showing the new Dr Who Eps...

I am jealous.

The general consensus is that it was thoroughly brilliant. I didn't get to concentrate on it properly so I'm having another crack at it on Three tonight.

So, you have something good to look forward to (or you could just do what everyone else does and download it. (o:)

I bet this is one of those things *only* funny to library people who have sat through endless rounds of whether or not people should be quiet in the library. So I was reading this as you had you had tried silence in the library, and enjoyed it, but it wasn't ... really doing it for you. It was rather unsatisfying, and not scary. ::giggles:: It's just something a patron might say ... 'Silence in the library is SO unsatisfying! I want my cell phone!'

Er ... perhaps it's only funny to me. :-/
