I'm sorry he's not growing older with grace! I'm afraid I'm not very sympathetic about people not liking growing old, these days, though. =>}

After watching my best friend die of cancer when she was 40 and I was 44, I have little patience with it. I would give ANYTHING and I know she would too, for her to have turned 50 a couple of years ago.

I don't mean to be nasty, but it DOES tend to put it all into perspective.

(I'm about to be 56 btw. =>} )

p.s. What is SAGA?

Urm... I was only having a laugh. he's not sitting around sulking or anything! And 50's a pretty big milestone.
Since his mother died of cancer at 52, I guess he has a right to be a little introspective. In 2 days it will also be the 1st anniversary of his dad's death, so I guess that's on his mind too.

Saga's an organisation for the over 50s, btw.

Sorry for overreacting then. I have a tendency to do that. I'm very sorry that he lost his parents so young. Not nice at all, I'm sure.

Here we have CARP! No kidding. Canadian Association of Retired Persons or something like that. In the States, I think it's AARP. Heh heh! =>}

It's OK. The whole things's a bit emotive for everyone, I guess! We went out and fed the ducks today - had a nice time. We have wine, it's a good night for telly, we're having a lovely evening. Hope you are too ::smiles and waves::
Carp! How BIZARRE! Which reminds me, we saw a really huge fish leaping for mayfly today. Amazing sight. I probably enjoyed the baby ducks more, though :G:

Sounds like a very nice day. I'm still having an okay afternoon. It's only 4:30 here. =>}

We get a couple of family of ducks at the little beach by our cottage every summer. We get to watch them grow from fluffly tiny ducklings with brown stripes, to almost mature "teen" by the time we leave for the Fall.

We feed them cracked corn every morning and they all come running up from the beach as soon as they hear us shaking the container. So cute! =>}

Ooh, squee!!! I love baby ducks. There's this exceptionally cute one on the lake, an only child, much doted on by his/her parents that we have a special love for.
Ducks truly rule. They're such an interesting shape. :G:

It's really fun to see them when they're tiny. They can't dive down yet and just bob around like corks. We're sure the mother of one little family was one of the baby ducks once brought to our little beach by HER mother. They're back at the cottage as soon as they seen we're around.

Watching the little families waddle up to the corn is so funny! =>}
