'Tonsils still feel like footballs but I'm feeling a lot better today.

Uncle Lol came and took Dad away this morning - they're off to Sheffield to visit Uncle George. It's the first time Dad's been out of the house for 2 weeks - the first time he's been out of his bedroom (aside from bathroom visits and trips to the kettle) for almost the same length of time. He sits in there all day, curtains closed, watching old movies (often the same ones over and over) or episodes of Sherlock Holmes all day long - always wants his meals on a tray. We've tried everything but we can't et him out of there so I'm thrilled about this. We've enrolled him in a chess club and put his name down for the regular Tuesday tea-dance down in Penistone. I'm thinking, if we don't actually tell him where he's going - let him assume it's a doctor's appointment or whatever- and just take him... We have to do something to get him talking to people again. Just sitting in his room moping is doing him no good at all.

Meanwhile, I've been using my sick-time wisely and well, working on a sitcom with the working title, 'Fangirls'. heh. It's coming on and I am well pleased.

In a similar vein, I've been making Cruise of the Gods icons.A strange, obsessively-fannish thing to do for a film that's about obsessive fans. My ironic side is smiling like a loon.

It's the Bank Holiday weekend! my lovelies; use it wisely and well.

Ayeeeeee! It's Friday my love, and a blessed Bank Holiday Friday at that. I'm getting in extra supplies of wine and olives and refusing to move for the duration. ::digs in tiny petulant toes::

I'm glad you've managed to get your dad out of the house - and off with other people too. That's bound to do some good. Bless him, it's a worry; ::huggles you::

Have a fab, worry-free, lurgy-free, stress-free weekend honeybunch.

::blows disgustingly sloppy kisses your way::

Metaphorically, anyway. (o:

Ah, olives, wine - yup. We have cherry pie and clotted cream too ::is decadent::

::sees your sloppy kisses and raises you three crushing, holiday-hugs:: (has been reading about poker for the com)

Love the icons.

So glad you are managing to get your Dad out and about, I'm sure he will enjoy it, even if he doesn't remember it long.

...If you find you should ever want one.

Ah, we were really hoping it would give him a new lease of life. Unfortunately Dad was terribly confused by supper-time and had to be brought home. He kept asking where Mum was , they didn't know how to deal with it. But they're already panning the next outing so it can;t have bothered them too much. (o:
