Phew!
Thanks so much, America! ::is very, very happy and terribly relieved:: Even Gordon Brown's smiling, but you know what they say, never a frown with Gordon Brown.
::smirk::
But what the merry buggery is up with my internet? It's up and down like a two-quid tart's knickers.
And Phil and Fern have a member of the UK family on. How very Phil and Fern of them. *g*

are brits curious at all about how elections are done here? I saw a map on the bbc of the US and all the red/blue states and thought, I wonder if they have a similar thing over there in the UK.
Random, I know. :-)
I should take a picture of my CHICAGO VOTING RECEIPT for history's sake :-). I love being a Chicagoan!
Politically interested people are interested.

How do you mean? The US elections are covered pretty much the same way our own are covered. This election in particular aroused a lot of interest since it was clearly going to be deeply historically significant, and an Obama win would mean an America that would seem to be more in step with European aspirations and feelings about the way the world works (whether this turns out to be true or not is yet to be seen).
The prospect of a McCain/Palin win scared the shit out of most people over here. I think the jubilation is, in large part, a sense of relief. *g*

I'm probably not expressing myself well. :-)
