For yea and verily, I be still living - should you have wondered.
Lifely update the fyrste: My internet connection has been behaving like a drunken tramp with a bottle of cider in a brown paper bag singing Scottish ballads outside a department store. It's become somewhat irritating and consequently, I have been jolly cross in an Al Qaeda sort of a way. Sending emails, posting messages; all has been a trial and a tribulation since the connection's been dropping out pretty much every 90 seconds or so. This has made me mad. Deep probing on the part of myself and m'lovebucket (but not in an exciting way) seemed to show some sort of DNS problem. We never did get to the bottom of it but It seems alright again today. Keeping all extremities tightly crossed.
Lifely update the seconde: And ring out the bells for I have written a chapter of fic!!! Yea an' verily, this is cause for celebration indeed. For those of you reading BLUE, I'm trying to initiate the discipline (stop laughing at the back) of a chapter a week, hopefully to be written on a Sunday, posted on the Monday. If I can hold myself to the plan, there will be 23 chapters till the end. The first is up. Hey ho the nonny, by all the Gods let us at least try to stay on the projected path this time.
Lifely update number three: I finally finished and reviewed The Northern Clemency for Amazon Vine. Man, that's one big book. My review is here, should anyone give a monkeys. Next up, Mark Gattis's The Vesuvius Club. I can hear your bated breath from here. I, however, am pretty excited about this one. On a brief flip-through, it has a vaguely Ronald-Searlish look, and Stephen Fry recommends it. It all bodes well.
And I'm bored with the number thing now: My new baby, the novel known as Entanglement is coming along - slowly, I'm getting around an hour a day of work done but it's moving on apace and I am well pleased. Today I'm working on my ghosts and their back-stories which will make a nice change from all the quantum physics of the past week and a half.
The Permaculture Diploma (remember that?) has been on something of a hiatus, closed due to LIFE. I intend to kick-start that today. Pray for me.
I've been watching more telly than is my wont (due to aforementioned internetly troubles). Einstein and Eddington was a joy. The new Survivors was OK, I thought - better than expected but by all the Gods! - Does Freema Agyeman have to be in everything the BBC does these days? I find her most underwhelming, 'deed I do. Ditto that Julie Graham out of Bonekickers. My sister and I amused each other hugely working out strange and unusual ways to ensure Bonekickers never, ever, returns to our screens, mostly involving black holes - for It is not enough that it be merely killed, more that it be entirely removed from the planet, indeed, from time and space itself.
There are many Good Things to be had on the TV these days. There is Ponderland and Gavin and Stacy and Little Dorrit and a new series of the IT Crowd! Such mighty squee!) and new (and ever more slashy) Top Gear and sundry other darling lovely things to please me.
To summarise; teh sun is shining, the temperatures well below zero; it looks as though we might be heading for a Real Winter this year - which would make a most pleasant change. Life isn't that bad, on the whole, for a wonder.
So how about you, my little darlin's? How is life treating you these days? Is your universe all rainbows and kittens or is she being a cheeky bitch? Speak to me, lil buddies!

life is...
On the upside, I'm not at work and have been productive writing-wise. Been doing quite some planning on my third (and last!) Moonridge story in the previous weeks, and (what with having such a lot of uninterrupted time on my hands) got back to working on the second story yesterday. I sent it to Jen while I was away and she, oh so very graciously, looked it over. Suffice to say it needs some work, even when not accounting for the fact that it still has no ending (and I'm not just talking about an epilogue). But it's going and I might have found things to stuff at least half the plot holes with and am contemplating ideas how to smash up the rest into such tiny pieces that the reader wont notice. Devious me.
Ever the procrastinator however ::note me browsing LJ:: I am *delighted* to find you have been and are posting new pieces of Blue :-) I was feeling too wretched over the weekend but will go and read what you posted already in the next break (of which there are many). I have already queued it up :-)
And how I envy you your BBC, even if it's full of Freema and Bonekickers. So much so that I've been contemplating shelling out 4 bucks or more a month just to be able to watch BBC Prime. The verdict on that is not yet out, though, and will very much depend on whether or not the BBC decides to continue to share Dr. Who with its international viewers (not to mention that hubby might veto the idea, too).
Oh goodness, and look what you had me do, *spamming* you with all sort of stuff you likly didn't want to know. But then again, you asked :-P
All the best!
Re:Bad LJ.
Spam away babe! I'm trying to catch up myself after a long dry period of terrible internets trouble.
I think there's only one new bit of Blue, unless it's a really long time since you looked. *g* I'm trying hard to be more consistent.
Looking forward to seeing your Moonridge stories.
And how I envy you your BBC
You do?! Wow. German TV must be indescribably bad. *g* Nah, I merely jest. The Beeb can be a cantankerous old cow but I like her well enough most of the time. :o)

Apart from that, nothing much really. And I could have done without the physio/faceplant thing too.
Good luck with your internet connection. It's infuriating when you can't get online but you know the World Wide Web (and your flist) are awaiting you.
Ho hum.
faceplanting on platforms (albeit padded)? Details, plz! Clearly this is one of those things I've missed.
My connection's gone really unpredictable all evening. It's been fine during the day, now it's up and down like a hyperactive puppy trapped on a bouncy castle. In the words of the immortal John Lydon, it's no fun. No fun at all.
Wherein the faceplanting is explained
I had a physio appointment today. Jacky (my physiotherapist) had been making noises about throwing me on the ground
and having her wicked way with meseeing how well I get up again, but she decided to have me crawling on the padded platform instead.I told her that I normally only do it for men, and only when they're throwing money at me, but for her, I'd give it a go. I did...and my elbow promptly gave way so I did a faceplant on the platform. Thank God it was padded, because my glasses got bent out of shape (literally) as it was. I had another go, and managed it just fine.
There's more about my physiotherapist in my LJ post, but that's the faceplanting part. Owie. :o\
I hate having a dodgy internet connection. I agree with you that it's no fun (in fact, it's bloody aggravating). Have you contacted your server or BT to check the phoneline out? Btw, if you do contact BT and they say it's fine, get your server to check it anyway. BT will say it's fine as long as you can make calls on it - but that doesn't mean the internet connection will work properly. I found that one out the hard way. :o(

Work is better not mentioned. We're in the paper every other day recently for regulatory violations and they're threatening to yank our Federal funding. At least I can escape to fandom and writing fic at night...
Too cool for subject
Work - lawks a lawdy! So, if you lose funding, what will happen? ::offers a hug::

Mostly just a huge headache. Actually today the patients have been more problematic. We have a ward full of screaming women...

It's lovely to hear what's up with you. AND to see a new chapter of Blue.
Life here has its ups and downs as always, but the rainbows and kitties are here this week. First a three day visit from our daughter and Benjamin and now a visit from my baby (and only) sister on her way from Nova Scotia, moving to Toronto.
We haven't had a visit with her here in YEARS and it's really nice to have some good talks without a whole crowd of family around.
And on Thursday, we have to visit our daughter et al. because she forgot her backpack for Benjamin and really needs it. And extra day with B. is ALWAYS a plus. *g*
The cheeky bitch part can stay far, far in the background right now! =>}

Thanks so much. There are downs, but I try to keep them in the background, since there's not much that can be done about most of them. Benjamin adds so much joy to our lives. =>}

have you been watching Merlin? so slashy!
Too cool for subject
Merlin? oh. meh. I keep seeing it pimped around the flist and I'm not one to harsh teh squee, but I watched the first two and thought it was the most awful bollocks tb entirely h. Has it got better, then, because I found the eps I watched intolerable (Pardon my frankness *g*)

Ah-ha! There you are... I was beginning to wonder about sending out the search party. Dodgy internet connections are a bugger to fix - hope you've got it sorted. Mind, you've missed the fun of LJ refusing to send comment notifications. Oh joy! ::kicks LJ:: ::kicks AOL too, just for the hell of it:: And you're writing loads - wow! Go you!
Life? Um - ticketyboo, apart form the website I'm working on being invaded by Chinese hoards. I try not to worry about these minor glitches in Life. I also find wearing a bucket on my head at all times works wonders for me. ::nods::
