I’ll be taking the Temple website down on January 8th 2009.

There’s a combination of factors involved; I won’t bore you with all my reasons- the ever-increasing cost, which the current exchange rate has massively exacerbated, is the precipitating factor but it’s not just about money - the £££ isn't even the main reason, tbh; it’s also about the time and the hassle and just the sheer grief that running this website has been bringing me lately.

I used to get great joy from the Temple but it’s been dying a slow and painful death for some time; the only part that gets any traffic now is the downloads page and - I know a lot of people use and value the downloads but they are the most problematic, troublesome, frustrating and expensive part of the site. I’m looking into moving them to pastures new; a couple of people have kindly offered to look into taking them on and I’m hoping we can work something out so they can remain available. In the meantime, I would strongly suggest that anyone who uses the downloads page a lot simply burns the files on to DVD. It’s very simple to do (I'll happily post instructions if anyone needs them!) and is far and away the safest way to have the eps to watch whenever, wherever. It’s what I do with everything I download if I know I’m going to want to watch more than once.

The fic and reports will be moving to a new site (which will have the same name) as soon as I can fix it up.

The chat-rooms, message board, galleries and interactive galleries will all go. Tbh, looking at the traffic stats, I don’t think anyone will miss them much, they’ve been moribund  for a long time, but if there’s anything there you want to keep, download it asap as it’ll all be gone forever once the site comes down.

Once again, I apologise to everyone who’s used and enjoyed my site over the years. The decision hasn’t been made lightly. No one could be sadder about this than I am myself.

Awwww... s'ok dear. I'll wait til later to see what happens with the episodes. It's not like I am in dire need of them right now anyway as I am not writing anything where I need them.

You've got to go with what works for you. This fandom thing is supposed to be *fun*. ::hugs::

To be honest, Gilly, people - especially those who used the downloads section of the site - should be thanking you for keeping it up so long. I hope you do get a lot of thanks - I'm sure the site took a lot of work.

So thanks for putting the site up, and trying to keep it going. I used to enjoy the messageboards the most.

Putting them up as downlloads was kind of you (I couldn't take them up, I'm still on dialup... maybe one day I'll get them)

After your last post and the cost involved in keeping this site live, I completely understand your decision. Thanks for putting in so much effort into this site over the years. :0)

"Goodbyes" are always bittersweet, but I can tell it really is time for you to move on. Thanks for all the work you've put into your site over the years. I really appreciate it!

Good luck with the new! I hope it will be a happy start to your New Year.

::hugs::

Easy to say I know, but please don't be sad. I hope you can take some comfort from the fact that your site was appreciated by many people in the fandom.

Thank you for the valueable service and the great pleasure your web site provided. I am very glad to know that you still plan to maintain a site to house your fiction as I would hate to see that go.

Thanks again Gilly.

Oh man, this is sor ironic, my sis and I have been looking for online-ts-episode for like eons and just before christmas discovered the temple. We felt like this must be the best christmas present ever and got all blair-ish, but I guess the good ones always die young and if you say it was time for the temple to die it's fine. It's just a shame I found out about your blog just now, when it's too late to load anything down, let alone burn on DVD:ยด(
Just wanted to thank you for letting us see at least 3 eps of the second season that I never got to see before and please keep us informed about the online-eps-issue! You know it's never too late for christmas presents:)

Thanks again, because you are as far as I know the only one who ever provided sentinel episodes online, ever thought of bringing them up on surfthechannel?

Well, I'm glad you got some use from it, even if only for a short time. The downloads are moving as soon as I can organise that - there's 17gb of vids to move so it's no easy task - but I think I have a home for them now, I'm just setting that up. Some of other stuff like my fic and the reports are going on a new website that should be up in a week or two.

I wouldn't be on my knees like this if there wasn't the problem with the regional codes on American dvds which disenanble standard European laptops to read them out, so even if there was more than season 1 released on dvd, they wouldn't be of any use and most importanty: I guess the interview snippets weren't on it and I was most looking forward to seeing/ listening to them, your description of them sounded su much fun:) So I really appreciate your efforts, but take your time, though, I' ve got exams I should be preparing for right now anyway- in South American anthropology, no kiddin!;)
Just tell me, will the place you're going to take the eps to be accessible from outside the US? I'm German, you see...
Have a good week and you know how the South American peoples had one hell of a way to fight melancholy? *One take a sip of the juice of the san pedro cactus...* ;)

If you could access the Temple downloads, you'll be able to access them from the new site - there's no region coding on downloads. The interviews aren't taken from the Sentinel DVDs btw, they're from a fan-made disc I've had for years.

I never had the season 1 eps uploaded since they're available commercially and there are copyright issues.

Have you tried downloading a crack for the DVD-coding? I'm in the UK (region 2) and I've never had any trouble playing region 1 DVDs either on a DVD player or on my laptop.

I hope this helps. Good luck with the exams!

I'm very sad to have only discovered this message today, or I would have scrambled to make better use of my time on your site. I just wanted to thank you, especially for the episode downloads section; I became a fan of the show over the summer, and your site was the only place I could watch what the sci-fi channel stopped showing. I didn't get to finish, though, so I'd appreciate any news on where they went...

I'm just trying to organise a new home for the downloads now - there's an awful lot to shift so it may take some time. I'll be announcing new urls on all the relevant websites just as soon as I have them.

Take care.

First of all, thank you very much for these downloads, they made me happy for a long time!
There are so many peoples. though, who could used them now... please if/when you find a new place for them, let us know.
Thank you once more.

Tehomet is currently dl'ing them from my own HDD. When she has them all, she'll make them all available. Unfortunately the files are enormous and it takes time, and she's a busy lady who spends about 6 months a year travelling.

As soon as she has them up and available, I'll be sure to let everyone know.

Hello, I just wanted to say that the fact you had so many episodes ready for download in the past is kinda amazing.
The most I do is torrent seeding :P
This kind of site was a really good idea, and I was just wondering whether or not someone had indeed decided to repost the videos?
I bought season 1, and have been p2p downloading what I can, but would love to be able to download off someone with all of the eps.

Thanks again for creating this site, even if I did come late, I can definitely still appreciate it :D

Tehomet now hosts all the downloads that used to be on my website, episodes and bloopers and some other Garett and Richard stuff too.
