I'm heading off on a course at Middlesex Uni in a couple of days; going to be away for two whole weeks - )o:
 I have broadband in my room, but I'm expecting to be working long hours so I won't be around as much as usual, and the writing of fic will have to go on hold, too...

But - if there's anyone in/around North London who fancies a li'l get-together in Cockfosters one evening, they'll find me more than game.
Mood:: 'calm' calm

Shall I be game enough to ask what a Cockfoster is? (Think I'd like to try I Cockfoster -- I think!)

Have a fabulous and interesting time away.

Hee!!! Cockfosters is a place in North London; last stop on the Picadilly Line and really about as far from exciting as it gets.

Two weeks aren't too long when you're busy, though I'll miss your posts. Take care and have fun. :)

Aw bless! Thank you. I'm hoping to still be around and posting, just not as much as before. I'll miss writing the fic as much as anything; it's such a part of my day, but I really don't think I'll have the time or the energy, looking at this curriculum... sheesh!

Was it the horns or the udders 'wot gave me away? *hg*

And heeee's! some more...

So help me, I've never seen your horns! OR your udders! O:

I've been checking out lovely Cockfosters online, since I'm gonna be stuck there for the next fortnight. I used to know it well; my Auntie and Uncle lived in Southgate and Uncle Arthur had a butcher's shop there, but I suspect it'll have changed a bit in the last 30 years. But I see there's plenty of shops sellin vittals - 2 offies, an ASDA, an M&S and a World of Kosher! Does life get any better???

- Don't answer that...

Hi! I've just (doh!) seen this post since for some reason you weren't on my friends-list - sorry! (Btw that link should work for you...) And I was wondering...are you going to be in Cockfosters this weekend? Or are you heading home? Because it's a bit far for me to get to in an evening, but I don't live all that far away (south of the river) if you fancied meeting up Sat or Sunday...? NP if not, just a thought :)

Heading home? ::sigh:: If only...
No, I'll be here. Oakwood is actually better for me than Cockfosters cause there's a mini bus, but there's not a whole lot to do there! Unless you have a better suggestion? I would love to meet up but transport's a bigger issue than I imagined. The U is right in the middle of Trent Park - the mini bus is good, but it's the only option and I'm told walking through the park at night is decidedly dodgy...
So, I'm open to suggestions!

Hmmm...I have to say I don't know the area at all because I live waaaaaaay over the other side of the river out in Surrey, so I only know Cockfosters as a stop on the underground! I've never been there. Would lunch be a better idea if it's ok to walk through the park during the day? We could maybe meet up in town or something?

Darn it, I have a field visit at 12. I don't know how long that'll last, though I'm assuming, not more than 3 hours...
I don't know this area all that well - it's years since I was here. Cockfosters, Oakwood, Southgate - they're all pretty near. They all have cafes and pubs and what have you, but none of them are exactly what you'd call inspiring places to hang out!
Honestly, if it's a problem, forget it. I'd hate to think of you trailing all the way out here for a coffee and a bagel! We could meet somewhere halfway, if it wasn't too late, but I can't be too far away from the U at night because of the stupid transport problem. Sheesh!

Hmmm... it doesn't sound like this is possible, does it! Never mind, honey, I hope you have a great weekend all the same!

Okeydokey - when I sat down and really thought sensibly about it, the best I could hope for was an evening drink and or dinner in one of the li'l tavernas they have around here, but I freely and fully accept it's a bit of a long haul for you to come all the way out here for a beer and a bit of tzatziki ::VBG:: Some other time...
