I just tried

...To put one pair of specs on top of the pair I'm already wearing. 'Why won't they fit?!' I wailed to myself in exasperated irritation.

Why am I posting this momentary lapse on LJ? It's a kind of sickness.

maybe, though I've always thought our genes were rather dangerous (in a totally unimpressive and usually embarrassing way). Come back to me when you find yourself carefully putting them away safely... in the freezer.

Once upon a time a young poet who had just won an award celebrated with rather too much alcohol. He ended up in hospital because he'd tried to remove a contact lens which he had never inserted in the first place....

Not as bad on my stepdad, who's been known on occasions to ask where his glasses are, only to be told they're hanging on a chain round his neck. *g*

I got all flustered at the garden centre thinking I'd dropped mine in the soft fruit section - found them on top of me head.
