Let's get St George's Day as a bank hol. I'm up for any excuse for a day off and a booze up.

I am returned from the garden centre! Resplendent with one white-currant bush, some delightful tumbling fuchsias, a tower for my wayward honeysuckle, some tobacco plants, yet more packets of seeds, a delightful blue ceramic strawberry pot they were knocking off at £5, some solar-powered coloured fairy-lights, unwieldy quantities of peat-free compost (I am so green and good! :o)), pea sticks, a bag of perlite, a fondue set and a cuddly toy. :o)

Tea now, then on! With the novel for Progress! She must be made today.

Dunno, personally I'd prefer the bank hols to be a bit more evenly spaced - as it is we've got four which are normally (depending on the date of Easter) bunched up within two months of each other, and then nothing else until the end of August.

If they ever do let us have St. George's Day as a bank holiday, they'll probably scrap one of the other bank holidays for it.

What annoys me is that Australia have a bank holiday for the Queen's birthday. We don't!

Sounds like you had a nice shopping trip though. :oD
