She's working with Looby now. Her partner's their drummer and manager, he used to be drummer with Crosstalk. The purpose of selling the story to the Times is to get publicity for BMIs atrocious behaviour and hopefully, some compensation.
I lived in Saudi for 7 years. I never walked behind my hubby and I never wore a abaya. You couldn't go to town wareing tight jeans and tank top, had to cover arm's and leg's. You couldn't eat in a restaurant with men. We had to go into a back room where others couldn't see you. This is not as bad as it sounds once you get used to the way of things over there it was ok..
I don't get BMI = when I worked for Siemens, we had women engineers in countries all over the globe, including Saudi Arabia, and yeh, you had to wear longish skirts and have your arms covered (common sense in a Muslim country), but nobody had to walk behind the men or cover up in an abaya. What's the point? I hope they are made to look as ridiculous as they are through publicizing this.
They're being ridiculous Everyone knows it. I really hope Lisa and Mike get the restitution they deserve and that BMI are shown up for the wankers they so clearly are.

Stuff that! Some forms of "culture" (ie, quite often, unthinking or ossified habit) don't deserve respect.

Good grief. And there I was thinking we'd got beyond that sort of crap. Silly me. I hope she gets some compensation, or at least an apology.
Maddening ain't it?
