That's him, in the icon - Has an underactive thyroid! Oh thank GOD! He's been poked and prodded and tested and tested, about 5 gallons of blood taken from him poor mite. When the last tests (Cushings disease) came back neg the vets started making hesitant, worried noises about liver cancer but it's just the poor boy's thyroid and easily sorted with meds, apparently.

The relief, as you can imagine, is mighty.

In other news, it's black as Hades out there. Will it never stop raining?

ETA: It's hammering down like stair-rods, as my Mum would've said. O:!

Well done Hamish, bless him. They worry you sick, don't they? ::sends doggy treats::

NO! No doggy treats, he's big as a barrel already (thyroid, remember?)! I'll bet he's already had the cat's dinner. It's a constant drain keeping him out of the treats cupboard, I can tell you.

Yay for Hamish's problem being easily treatable! *g*

It's quite cool here, but the sun is shining! Yay!

::sends some of our sun over to you::

It must've got here because it turned wildly sunny right after. Ta muchly! XXX

LOL! Cool! You're most welcome. *g*

I am in love with Hamish. I don't know why, but I had a Westie I adored, and that face with the stare reminds me of her so much *G*.

We've got a cat with an OVERactive thyroid and we went through the same kidneys, liver, lyme disease, only to find out his thyroid is out of whack and he has IBS! At least there's drugs for those. I'm so glad your guy is going to be OK. They do really well once their thyroid is regulated.

I see he's having troubles again. I am sorry. It's the one sole and single downside of the love you get from animals, that they're so delicate in their way and live such short lives.

I hope he'll be OK, and you too. Sending plenty of love for you all, and hugs and hope. ♥

That is good news for Hamish. Poor kid, having all those tests; they don't understand it all which makes it kinda worse for them.

He was OK in himself, he just got so lazy, refusing to go on his walks and eating everything in sight - we were the ones fretting! The milky way he's getting 3x a day to get the pills down is going down a treat, too. :o)

i'm glad Hamish's problems are easily 'fixed'. my parent's dog has epilepsy, and i know how hard it can be trying to deal with the specter of un-treatable things. or worse, treatable, but unaffordable things.

*hugs*

He seems to be doing just fine, now, enjoying the sweeties he gets with his pills. :o)
