A Delightful Weekend in the Country

Whilst squeefully awaiting the arrival of La fluterbev to my country residence for a Bank Holiday Weekend! of fun, I have been making myself useful and getting in the vittals...



We want the finest wines known to humanity!.


Smelly cheeses and crusty bread ftw! 

Amongst a great many other things, I'm looking forward to introducing my favourite doxy to the delights of Withnail and I which, she tells me, she has never seen O:!

PS: Any idea when you might be arriving my lovely? We shall of course, be there to meet you at the station (Get in the back of the van!!!)

It is indeed - Memorial Day is Monday, the day we remember all the veterans. There's a particular tradition here in DC. The veterans from the Vietnam War gather and ride motorcycles from the Pentagon, around the Mall and then to the Vietnam War Memorial on Sunday. It's called Rolling Thunder. It's pretty awesome (and noisy!)

Here it's just Whitsuntide aka Spring Bank Holiday and nothing exciting at all happening, unless you count all the drinking and vegging. Just a fine, Medieval calendar-style excuse for a day off (and nothing wrong with that).
