That Michael Jackson has died.

Geez. This is... horrible.

From Glinner on Twitter: 24 hours news coverage + death of major figure + not much information = interview with every lunatic under the sun. I hear that! :o(

Was having a last minute browse when it broke. All rumours the last hour but BBC confirming it now, too. Man.

Me too, such a tragic angsty figure somehow.

ZOMG, there's been nothing else on TV here since 3pm this afternoon. Plus every helicopter in Southern California was hovering over UCLA for hours...

That's about when the news broke here, they didn't confirm he was dead right away. Until then, can you believe our news broadcasters were thinking Iran, Afghanistan and the oil refinery strikes were bigger news? Shows what they know (I went to bed - Michael Jackson, got up - Michael Jackson) *g*

I was surfing the web and saw a little head line about him being taken to hospital and then thought nothing of it as I know he does have problems. But then my son came down and said they were saying he was dead. Took them about half an hour to all agree. How sad he was a great talent.

It's shocked and saddened me more than I would have imagined it would. Such a tragic figure I always thought, I hope he's found some peace now.

Hope you're doing OK? ♥

It's sad, he was such a troubled soul. You may not have heard amidst all the coverage of MJ's death, but Farrah Fawcett passed away yesterday as well.

Yes, I knew about that but I didn't really know her in any real sense so, sad though it was, of course, it hasn't really touched me in the same way.

Understandable. Here in the U.S., way back when, every boy my age had the Farrah swimsuit poster in their room, all the girls wanted the Farrah hair and we were all trying to moonwalk. A friend from high school sent me this link from fox news. Interesting commentary on a generation facing the loss of two of its most famous icons
