Gods, I HATE tennis.
Bloody, bloody Wimbledon. It infests our screens for two weeks a year like an itchy and embarrassing skin disease. It is made of the most epic dull - and now I find they've cancelled Supersizers because of it, the only thing worth watching today.
Do not cross me people, for I have killed before.

I hate all tennis, Windybum just happens to be the most persistent offender on our screens, everything stops for it, everything Actually I hate practically all sports. It all seems so utterly, utterly pointless.

Well, that's three of us - perhaps we can form an anti-fan-club?

It's still on.

Oh boy. While others on my flist are posting away about the tennis, here you are hating it. I was beginning to wonder if everyone over there loved tennis. *g*
Not a big fan of sports on TV at all, but luckily, this time of year, there are none that interfere with any of our viewing. =>}
Good luck!

I work for a TV station that airs Wimbledon. For two weeks we do not have a noon newscast because of this thing that NO ONE watches.
I shudder to think how much money we loose every year on commercials we cannot air.

I have no problem with sport when it doesn't get in the way but Wimbledon, like snooker, seems to dominate ALL for the time it's on and everything has to make way for it. It's a huge, bruising, bullying, tank-like event for which have no tolerance, none at all!!!

Here, it's mainly during the American Basketball season. They go on and on and the station never airs the show I want in full, but starts it "in progress". I just hate that! =<{}
"in progress".
Here they just cancel all existing schedules till the Big! important game is over - we will get our shows, just not now, you know - some as-yet-to-be specified time in the future. I understand that it's a BIG game, a once or never thing for those who care about it and I don't usually whine but after two weeks of it I start getting a bit frayed around the edges, you know? Makes me tear my hair a bit. :o)
Re: "in progress".
"Do you mean they start the show halfway through? In which case, what the frack...?!"
Exactly! It's infuriating! I would LOVE it if they aired my shows at a later date. That would be fabulous! But NOOOOO! They either kick them off for that week, or as I said, show what's left when the stupid-assed game is over.
Fortunately, I haven't been watching much on that channel since Angel ended.
