Permaculture pix.

A tiny selection of the ones I took but they sort of give a feel for the thing. I forgot to put one in of the mansion, though; a huge stately pile that makes up the bulk of the university proper. It used to belong to Siegfried Sassoon. The grounds were gorgeous, as you can probably see from the pic of the cedar - you can just about see the vista and the obelisk on top of the hill. All rather lovely.

It was far from cool; averaged 33 degrees most days. Hotter than Cuba (hee! OK I know what you really meant! Just jokin...)
As for the landscape - the vista with the cedar above isn't really countryside. The U is set in the grounds of what used to the the Sassoon stately home. Much if it now makes up Trent Park - a public park. But there are wonderful oak - hornbeam - chestnut woods all around... you certainly wouldn't know you were in London, if it wasn't for the planes and helicopters flying over all the time.

Great pics - thanks for posting - and yeah, I can see how sitting in that courtyard could become tiresome quite quickly *g* That looks like late-1960's architecture at its finest.
