Just comin' up for a breather...

Oh my, I've been busy. And poorly. Haven't been online much, lately and I'm sure there's loads of people I should be replying to and all that - sorry - and there's a [personal profile] fluterbev story waiting to be read!! O:!!

But the real reason I'm here on a Saturday morning, when I really should be cleaning the house, is that I'm looking for a helpful soul, who doesn't mind a bit of angst, to cast a critical eye over a WIP. The story's a Moonridge auction win (so I can't post it here), slash (but only very mild; they're all talk, these boys! heh heh), fairly dark and angsty, and told entirely in 1st person (for now! - One of the things I need advice on). It's currently at just over 9,000 words, and is probably about a third to halfway done. Right now I'm just looking for an opinion on the style, content, angst level (not sure it's high enough yet - hee), etc. I don't need a beta right now (unless anyone's offering...? (o:).

So if there's anyone out there... You know I'll be eternally grateful... (o: Sheesh. I am so insecure I'm surprised my arms stay on.
Mood:: 'working' working
location: My scruffy sitting room. man - I should clean!
Music:: Whatever that is Mark Lamarr is playing.

I'm sorry you're feeling poorly, hope you feel better soon. Sadly, though I'd love to help out, I don't think I'm really qualified to go over your fic, since I don't have experience in writing. I can help with any typos, grammar, punctuation, that sort of thing if you need it later on, though.

Thanks - I'm feeling a lot better now, thanks. It was just a virus - which I've now passed on to Alibongo )o: - and thanks for the offer to beta. I might take you up on that when it's done.

But you're always so busy, babe. It's hard enough getting an email out of ya these days! (I got your last btw, for which many thanks, but I'm fighting severe computer problems today - I'll get back to you as soon as I possibly can.)

As for the story - I'll happily send you a look-see, if you can find the time to read it. Just say the word.

The Word.

I know I have been very busy of late, and I'm sorry about that, but I would hate to miss out on your stories.

And emails are a two way street.

Yeah. It's a bitch. Computers are great, till they aren't.

I think your email just arrived. I'll get The Story So Far off to you as soon as...

Okey dokey... Thanks a lot! As I say, I'm not looking for a beta yet, just an idea of how it's reading. I'll email it as soon as I can (big computer problems today. )o:)

Oh dear, virus, virusses or is it viri? *G* Well whatever it's called it's still nasty. I am glad you are feeling better though.

I'm not a writer so I can't really help there. However I look forward to reading it when it goes public.

Look after yourself.

Thanks for the kind words, hon. My bugs jumped ship to Alibongo, but I'm feeling fine now - heh heh.

The computer problems went from bad to worse, though and I had to re-install wiondows today, which has been extremely traumatic in that I forgot to back up my bookmarks and email archive. But at least it's working again and I can get online.

::hugs you:: I'd offer to read it (gimme, gimme!) because I adore your stuff want to help, but! Large 'but'. I am now home with my kids, and life has taken on its usual unpredictability (plus there's lots of stuff I have to do this week) so I couldn't promise to get round to it in a timely fashion. So I'll just wait for it to be done instead *g*.

Oh RL's a BITCHEROO ain't it? I feel your pain, having struggled mightily with a sick computer for days. As for the story - a couple of good peeps are reading it for me, so I think I'm OK. - Just wondering if doing it all in 1st person was really a good idea (it's REALLY hard! ::G::) Thanks anyway, for wanting to help. You know that's mutual... ::VBG::

And now I'm properly back online, I can go and read your new story; something I've been looking forward to since you mentioned it at Ali's. (o:

Okay, so this means I would be both honored and very pleased if you let me read your WIP. BTW, you got two e-mails from me about two of your stories "Sentinel Affair" and "Wind Wispering" duirng the last weeks. If you got them, but haven't had the time or inclination to answer, noooo problem. But if you lost them, I'd be happy to resend. Since it's positive feedback and you're having so much of a hard time these days, I hope you'd be, too :-) I will also get back to you on "Chaising Rainbows" shortly. I so hope to be reading more of that in the future...

Thanks Tina - no I didn't get your emails, or maybe they came and got wiped. I've lost so much... ::sobs:: Thanks for the offer to read - I'll make you the last! I've had a lot of offers - thanks everyone! - but I think I have enough readers now. (o:
I'm immensely gratified that so many people want to read my ramblings ::G::

I'll need your email; you can pm me with it at the Temple of the Sentinels, if you like, and I'll get the story off to you.

I forwarded my original e-mails to your feedback address from the temple, so you should have my address now. If you already have enough readers for your WIP, I didn't want to add to your workload by having to send it to me, too, of course... was just an offer for help. I hope I'll be allowed to read the finished product some time down the line, though.
