It's Pancake Day!

Mediaeval Feast-Days ftw!

I don't much like pancakes myself, indulging instead in crumpets, cream eggs and Mulligan and O'Hare.

And why (oh why) is my garden covered in a layer of cold white stuff again? For shame, O Weather Gods; you have become repetitive and boring.

Pancakes!

I've just been told off for encouraging friend's small children to put their pancakes in their boots to save them for later. Honestly - what's wrong with that? ::sniggers like Mutley::

And why do you still have white stuff? It's going on Too Long.

heh. You're just too wicked to live, you know that, don't you?

::Moany rant commences::Oh, the white stuff never really went away, there've been drifts on the moors ever since it fell but yesterday we woke to a fresh coat of the bloody stuff and now heavy freezing fog has arrived to compound the cat's misery.

And they're tearing up the centre of Penistone to build a Tesco. I ask you, is nowhere safe from the buggers?! ::moany rant ends::

By 'eck luv - you gotta be tough to live oop north. Us feeble southerners haven't had more than the occasional light dandruff attack for a week or more now... though Bad Things are forecast for Devon tomorrow. Bloody winter needs to go away now. ::sends you warm melty vibes and hot toddies::

Tesco? In the middle of Penistone (and oh god, that name makes me giggle every time, sorry)? Sacrilege, that's what that is. I like my Tescos to be at least a nice civilized 15 miles away.

In semi-related rant, the council and police are trying to shut down our local coffee/wine bar because they won't conform to fire regs. Bastards! We like our teeny overcrowded wine bar - I shall be manning the barricades!

Will you be throwing yourself in front of heavy machinery and knocking policemen's helmits off? That would be a fine thing to see. ::nods:: If it makes the news, you'll be sure to let us know, won't you? :o)

And Northerners. Oh we be tough baby, we be tough... ::checks fingernails, whistles softly::

As for Tesco - man... I think Armando Iannucci speaks for us all.

::makes loud dolphin noises::

The Tesco vid is brilliant, thank you! I was giggling and shouting 'YES' the whole way through... ::wipes eyes with sleeve::

And I shall indeed be throwing myself under heavy machinery - I always wanted to go out that way! We shall be marching under the banner "Bugger off!" It has a ring to it... *g*

I LOVE THAT ICON!!!

Arr! Dorset; where we've been making our own fun for generations... and periodically yelling "bugger off!" too by the look on his face. *g*

One can't help but wonder what he intends to do with that club.
