Too cool for subject
Despite sharing your disappointment with the writing so far, I do love Matt Smith. He's an absolutely brilliant doctor - a breath of fresh air.

But lawks a lawdy, the stores have been a real disappointment. I liked a lot of last week's eppy, the tea-lady Daleks were delightful, Steve Jobs Daleks faintly ridiculous and thestory, like all of them up to now, seemed... unfinished, somehow. All the stories so far seem very curtailed to me, like they needed to be 2/3 parters and weren't. I hated the whale ep, horrible, but not in a good way, in an incredibly stupid way. I see you enjoyed this week's - I'm afraid it left me a bit 'meh'. It's a 2 parter so I'm reserving judgement but it had none of the tension I was hoping for and River Song was, incredibly, even more annoying than last time.
I'm watching just for The Doctor at the moment, but tbh, there's nothing new in that, a lot of classic Who had awful story clunkers too, it's The Doctor himself who's always held my attention and this Doctor is doing the job nicely. :o) I do hope the stories pick up a bit though, up to now, they've been really disappointing.

I do very much love the weeping angels - they are quite possibly my favourite monsters ever. And I like the way the plot is opening out and developing in this two parter - it seems well paced and (for once) logical (unlike that bloody whale!). If Moff can carry off a good wrap-up next week I will be impressed. I just hope it doesn't fizzle out a la Rusty who, as we both know, had a few issues with endings!

I am hoping to be thrilled next week - and to maybe find out a bit more about River Song who I'm now certain in not who she claims to be, not even close, quite the opposite, in fact. ::nods portentously::
