Have the UK reviewers really been calling this season childish? My mum-in-law insists that they have and gave up watching early this season (I guess there will be no sonic screwdrivers in next year's Christmas package, which is really okay . . . ) but we're not sure what she's on about. Adored it.

Lawks a lawdy no, I don;t know what your mil has been reading, reviews I've read seem to universally love the Eleven/Moff combo. I was referring to some people from a fandom I'm normally active in, spouting nonsense on a mailing list.

I must say, I think it's been a fantastic series, best for decades imo. I was no fan of the RTD era, this feels like my show again.

She keeps telling us that *all* the reviewers think the season is childish; we've had a hard time believing that. She's a very *selective* receiver of information, let's say.

Then I'm confused, I haven't seen a single review that says that.

Selective maybe, possibly inventive. :)

Entirely possible. Good to have that confirmed.
