If I press the friends link at the top of the page, the latest post from my friend's list is from last night (and checking just one of my communities, I can see there've been a ton of posts since last night). If I press the link on my sidebar, the latest post is Snailbones pumpkin post from Oct 30th.

I often have this updating problem from one of the 2 links, never had it from both before. Anyone got any advice on how to fix this?

I have no advice, I'm afraid. LJ is a strange animal, sometimes, so it is likely to be a problem at their end. Hopefully it will be fixed soon :-).

By the way - [livejournal.com profile] kenzie_serenity got scratched in her house last night, like you and I did! Go see my latest post when you get a chance - there are piccies this time :-)

(a) Clear out your browser history.

(b) Check to see that your computer clock is set correctly.

Neither of these may make a difference, but it's a basic place to start.

Good luck.

Clear out your browser history.
I do that pretty regularly, but have done so again.

Check to see that your computer clock is set correctly
Checks... Yup.

I have found, if I set the menu above to just communities, or just individuals, it updates OK with all the new stuff. Clicking on 'friends' just gives me the same locked-in-time entries. ::shrug:: I think it's just one of those unfathomable LJ things.

Thanks for trying to help, anyway! Much appreciated.

My computer went wonky today, and I finally remembered to do a system restore. It worked.

So, you might try restoring to a point earlier than when you started having notification troubles -- a month? Two? Might help.

Oh man, I shoulda known it'd be YOUR fault! ::G::

I seem to be getting past it by clicking the 'journals only' thingum but it's a nuisance to put it exceedingly mildly.
