Too cool for subject

I'm glad your mum is doing better. And I sympathize about Hamish. My mixed breed, mostly pointer dog (Patch) doesn't howl, but he whines all day, which is quieter but just as annoying. He was neutered years ago, though he still doesn't accept that sad fact of life, and everytime my other dog, a lovely boxer bitch called Maggie is in heat I spend all my time keeping them separate, and consoling Patch, because otherwise he annoys Maggie so much she'll end up hurting him!
