...for most of the day, still taking stuff out of the house there. Talking on the way home, we couldn't believe it's been almost a year since my partner Mark's dad died, very suddenly and unexpectedly, just 2 days after Mark's birthday. The house is more or less sold now; contracts have been exchanged - we're just waiting for the lawyers to do their thing so we can get finally put it all behind us.

We both hate going there now - after the rennovations needed to get it on the market, it no longer feels like a home at all, it's utterly souless. I always come away from there feeling profoundly sad. It must be so much worse for Mark - he grew up in that house, and, even though he moved out almost 30 years ago, it's always been 'home' for him. ::sigh::

On the upside, my TS disks are finally here, plus a big 'sorry we screwed you around' apology-package from LUSH, and my Canadian copy of Decoys (with all the good stuff on it!) is arriving tomorrow. Life could be a whole lot worse :G:

YAY! You got the DVD's! Great! I've been watching them with J. and he's liking them, too. That's a relief. I like it when we can share an interest in a show, if not the slashy one, heh heh. Although I DO tend to kind of MENTION slashy moments to him as they occur. He just laughs. =>}

What is Decoys? =>}

I watched The Debt while I had my work out. Not that that's any different to what I USUALLY do, but... it was nice to do it without any irritating breaks and logos and those little 'Comming Next - The Visitor' - or whatever - things SciFi run across the screen. Most excellent. :G:

Yes, and the picture is so very very nice and clear. *sigh* =>}

So what is "The Decoy"???

Sorry - Decoys is a Canadian movie - a low budget, teen alien invasion thing - very funny. Richard plays the detective, but his role was cut to ribbons and he hardly appears in the final cut. But the *Canadian* DVD (and no other) has the cut scenes plus a load of fantastic bloopers (about 90% Richard) - so I ordered it. Can't wait to watch it again.

Ah! Okay! Thanks. I'll keep an eye out for it!

RB DOES seem to be a blooper-loving kind of guy, doesn't he? =>}

I've gotta be honest, I *can't* see any difference in the picture quality from my home recorded DVDs. Mine were done straight from the digital satellite signal, straight on to DVD and would have been as good as you could get at the time. I was hoping these would be better yet, and Arnie reckons they *are*, but - I can't see it!

Best thing for me is not having those *bloody* SciFi logos all over the picture. Nice clean screen. Brilliant!

Well you were very lucky then. Cause I had only rather poor quality DVD+R's from a VERY kind fellow fan, that must've been recorded off videotapes, so nothing was too clear. I'm seeing so much detail with the DVD's. Only wish I had all four seasons, but at least I HAVE finally been lucky enough to get those through the generosity of fandom. =>}

No logos and no ads is a HUGE plus. =>}

I hate hate hate the whole clearing a house thing - it's so sad. Sounds like you're getting there though, even if it feels like it takes forever... ;~(

Hey - and another LUSH addict... I could go a good soak in something smelly right now. *g*

It's horrible, really horrible isn't it? A man's life reduced to a list of stuff to keep, sell, throw away ): We're actually leaving a lot of stuff behind - kuz we got us a 1st time buyer (yay!) with no chain and paying us extra to keep all the appliances and beds and sofas etc - they're all fairly new and it saves us the worry of getting rid of stuff. As it is, we now have 2 microwaves, 2 coffee machines, 5 videos and no less than 7 DVD players!!! O:

*LOVE* LUSH!!! It's practically all I use. I ordered a shampoo bar and moisturiser from them, next day delivery, that never arrived - when they sent it again, I got someone else's package! So they've sent me my order + some delicious soap and a vanilla bod bath package - which is nice :G:
So, what LUSH-stuff do YOU use Snailbones?

It is horrible - reducing some one you love to brown cardboard boxes. Ugh! The last time I had the nightmare of a house that had been shared by six or seven members of my family over the years; they'd all moved on, and then died, leaving things left behind stored there... not to mention the collection of spiders and slow worm tails... the men at the dump were on my Christmas card list that year!

And I wouldn't crawl into the shower without Lush shower goop... preferably one I can wash my hair with too - saves on the brain power first thing in the morning ;~)

I know exactly how you feel - I did the same thing (going back and forth) when we moved out of our house in Liverpool. It will feel better once everything's settled, honest.

Glad your TS DVDs have arrived. Have fun watching them! :o)

It's sad and horrible, but almost over now, thank God.

Yeah, been watching the DVDs today. Nice to get them without the ad breaks (I mostly paused em out, but there's always that little hiccough) and those BLOODY logos!
