The house, she is sold

We just got a call from the Agents saying the sale should complete on Friday!!! O:!!! We only saw the solicitor yesterday! WHY didn't he bother to tell us that then?! Bloody lawyers! Now the Agents are umming and ahing and saying, maybe Monday...? Which at least gives us the weekend to finish clearing the house. There's not much more to move; as previously stated, we're leaving most of the furniture - it's just a very nice Victorian chest of drawers and all the books and memorabilia of our mis-spent past in the loft, so not a big problem, but a little warning would have been nice!

Oh well - end of an era, and very sad - but at least we can now move on and start working a little harder getting our own house ready to go on the market.

Because solicitors like to phone you up and add that charge to the bill.

at least we can now move on and start working a little harder getting our own house ready to go on the market.

Yeah, and once it's done and you don't have to go back, it will feel better. ::hugs:: Hope it goes smoothly.

Thanks for the good wishes, sugar. Mark's all sad and introspective today, which is only to be expected. i think his mood must be rubbing off on me... (see the latest chapter of my fic! LOL!)

The agent has confirmed Friday, though - so we've got ONE DAY t finish the packing. Man...!

I'm still sitting like a lemon waiting for DHL to deliver - something :shrug:. We don't even know what it is! I managed to write another chapter of my fic while involuntarily housebound, but I really need to get out for a walk before I whither and die!

Ack - me too - four hours of nursing a BT engineer this morning... and all this green and sunny and twittering and stuff just outside... grrrrr.
