Too cool for subject

LOL. It's just so intriguing! And not knowing... it's driving me crazy! I've been through all the obvious/logial reasons and none of them fit.

I tried rubbing at it and it just got darker - it's a brand new bathroom, I got it done for the express purpose of selling. How am I going to explain this to a prospective buyer? (o:
