OMG, I'd seen the headline but not that detail. Cock-up rather than conspiracy strikes again. There is very gallows humour in the situation.

It made the news here too and I just wondered if they *wanted* to be caught. *rolls eyes* I mean, come on, you possibly can't do more to sabotage yourself. What did they think the clerk would do? Join them?

As I've often said, 90% of crooks get themselves caught rather than be detected! I can so totally believe they did it - just weren't thinking, thank goodness! But, gives us all a chuckle!
