We're watching

...an ancient ('73) doumentary about Jimi Hendrix. Pete Townsend just told an anecdote about how 'Wilson Pickett pulled a gun on a drummer' and Mark looked up, peered at the screen over his glasses and said (in a grave tone); 'Not the first time someone's pulled a gun on a drummer. I'm sure he had good cause...'

It was a very Markish remark. It made me giggle.

"Was your band called *The Chameleons*?"
LOL. I wish!

We were called Crosstalk; unless you were deeply into the Indie scene in the early-mid 80's, you won't have heard of us. (o:

We did a few tours; had a few singles on Rough Trade; they crop up on ebay from time to time.

In the 1980's I wasn't into anything, LOL! But, I began to get interested in heavy metal about 10 years ago.

When did you disband? Did you disband because you didn't want to make music together, or there were conflicts within the band, or, probably this reason, it was just over and time to move on to new things? What are the names of your singles? I'll look for them on e-bay. Does Mark still play, or was it time to put away childish things? I'm paraphrasing, and paraphrasing badly. I know someone said that, but I've forgotten.

Disbanded in '85 - Mark gave it up then. I played briefly with Manchester band 'Red Turns To', then I went back to Uni, then Mark and I moved to South America. I haven't played music professionally since '86.

Crosstalk pretty much disbanded when our singer, Paul moved to Australia. We auditioned new singers, did a couple of gigs with one, then another, but it never worked and the band just fizzled out.

Singles? man... urm. 'Room to Breathe' was one, 'Clock' and 'Dear Peter (as you are a nice person, it doesn't matter what clothes you wear, it's what you are inside that counts)' - which I saw on ebay a few months ago from a seller in Detroit at *$27*!!! We were sorely tempted to email and tell him he could have the 300 in our loft for free if he wants to drive over and pick em up! (hee!)
