Biblical deluge

Is everyone in the UK OK? Did anyone get washed into the sea?

Man!

I can't remember ever seeing rain like that in these latitudes before. Sheets and sheets of it, hour after hour. We're OK up here, on a moor, 1000 feet above SL but I believe most of South Yorkshire is in a bad way. They're sandbagging houses over where my relatives live in Chapeltown and Ecclesfield and much of Sheffield is under water.

How about the rest of you?

We had a lot of rain last night, but it was still very warm, today up till now we have only had a little drizzle, but it looks like it is trying to rain now, but again not a lot.

Yesterday on the London Underground it was excessively hot, and its not even summer yet.

More forecast for tomorrow, turning hot and dry by Sunday. It's the heat plus the deluge that's making me feel I'm back in the rainforest. The woods are full of bilberries - at least a month early. It's just weird!

The rain's over here for now, though I think there's more to come tonight. Right now there's a damp haze hanging over everything but some roads are impassable raging rivers and some roads are blocked by flooding. The rain last night was *unbelievable*.
