LJ is being a sulky tart again

It's been days since I got any emails telling me about messages received -or rather,  I am getting them, but days late.

If you've responded to me and I haven't posted back, then - you have my apologies. It's a bit of a bastard. I wonder what the problem is now,  then? ::sigh::

I was about to reply saying that I haven't had that problem, but unless I go and check every entry, I wouldn't know, would I? Might rename my journal Schrodinger's LJ.

If you're getting emails then I'd guess you're probably OK, I'm not getting any at all, for hours, then I get a great batch of them all hours, sometimes days old.

sigh.

Schrodinger's LJ...
LOL. I suspect that's quite a popular LJ name. You might make Schrodinger5347 or something ::G::

The scariest part being sometimes you don't get the emails even days late. (That happened to me a couple of weeks ago; fortunately the comment was on a post I'd made and I saw it when I was answering some other comments -- but it never, ever showed up in my email at all. And I was watching for it, worried and suspicious of LJ.)

Aiiiy. Worrisome, all of it. Hope your lag-time gets fixed soon.

A case in point being, I had to mosey on over to see there were 3 posts here.

Ah well; less LJ = more fic time (and I am *popping* today! ::grins like a loon:: I'm just tidying up a bit of the latest - that should be up, hopefully, within the hour and I've got ideas jumping in my skull like a dozen Garett's doing the monkey dance. (o:)

Mine is doing the same thing, No email notifications, or if they do come they are days late. Just so you know it's not just you, it must be systemic.

Yeah, a couple of others have said they;re having the same problem; ost people are fine...

Sigh.

And I believe it's going off for 'essential maintenance' in the early hours US time, which means Saturfday morning here - the very time like to browse and catch up. hey ho... I guess this is the Universe's way of telling me to stop wasting time and do some work.

[identity profile] j-amanda.livejournal.com 2007-06-29 12:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh, what does the Universe know anyway? I think when creative people are "wasting time" they are actually allowing their brains to work on stuff on some other level. No, really.

[identity profile] gillyp.livejournal.com 2007-06-29 01:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh heh heh! Well my brain is *overloading* on ideas at the moment. Who would've thought sitting on yer arse drinking coffee could be so creative, hmmm? ::giggle::

(still no emails. sigh)

Hey Jude,

You're right. Harry Stack Sullivan who developed the *Interpersonal Theory of Psychiatry*, way back in the 30's, described this kind of *covert* thinking, creative thinking,as something that we do on an unconscious level, like putting something *on the back burner* And, although we're not aware of it, the creative process goes on. So, when we say an idea has popped into our head, we've really been thinking about it or something like it, all along.
