It's looking increasingly like the excavations at San Luis Potosi, may be of a wholly new, previously unknown culture, concurrent with the Olmec. O:! - That's old!

Now I know I was right not to buy that ticket for lunch with Ben Murphy and save the cash for my Mexican trip!

Incidentally, if you read Spanish, there's fresh info at;

That was interesting. Thanks for sharing the links. It'd be great if you could visit the site while you are there.

It's kind of a way away from where I was going - I'm hoping to fly to Cancun and then travel overland to Palenque and Bonampak. If I can run to it, it might be worth trying to fit an extra few days in, though, to visit this dig - IF they're letting Joe Public in - I need to check.
I am absurdely excited by this, but it COULD tie together a lot of theories that didn't really 'go' before. :grins all over face:

Hopefully in October, or failing that, next spring - when it's not too hot and not too deeply into the hurricane season (been there, done that, NO desire to do it again! :shudder:). It's only a plan right now, though, I've nothing booked. There are a lot of variables - money, the move, my Permaculture courses, my Mum's health, money! :G:

Hey, money! I know all about that issue! :o(

Hope you get to go though. ::hugs::
