Welcome to my perfumed garden

My LJ, like my life, has just had a severe pruning. If you're reading this, you haven't been removed, no need to comment (unless you want to be removed, of course (:).

If you've been snipped, honestly, it's nothing personal, we've likely grown apart in interests and whathaveyou, maybe you've dropped away from LJ too? Maybe you never friended me back (I do think LJ should be a dialogue and not just me jabbering away to myself like a loon). Whatever the case, if I've 'unfriended' you (what a horrible way that is to put it) and you wanted to stay, please, by all means comment or pm me, I'll be more than happy to add you back.

I have been a tad quiet of late, my laptop's power failed a couple of weeks ago, I was without t'internet for ten days and in that time, I rediscovered Real Life and all its joys and I have to say, far from being the trial I feared, it was actually rather lovely. :) Now I'm back I'm finding myself much less inclined to be constantly online.

My fannish interests are very much on the wane, I'm reading very little fic these days and bar one, still-outstanding story, I don't anticipate writing any more of my own. I doubt if I'll be commenting as much as before, either and - I'm telling y'all this in case you feel I'm too dreary company these days and feel you want to remove me. I do totally understand if that's so, so please feel free and absolutely no offence taken.

So, if in the light of all the above, you're still here and want to be, or you've been pruned and happy to be so, there's no need to comment. If, on the other hand, I've done something you're not happy about, just let me know and I'll rectify the situation.

In the meantime, permission to blow kisses? I may have gone a bit quiet but I do still love you all, you know.

By all the love being heaped on Sherlock Holmes by the flist. I saw it yesterday and I've rarely been so bored by a film. Really, really bored, the kind of bored where you're writhing in your seat because your guts are twisting and you want to howl at the moon kind of bored. It was just one blasted idiot fight after another, over and over until you thought there couldn't possibly be another one coming - but you'd be wrong and they'd be off again. It was basically a Jackie Chan movie to which the names 'Holmes and Watson' had been amended. And was it really long, or did it just seem it? Gods, I wanted the bloody thing to end.

As for the slash - was there some?

Once again, I appear to be out of kilter with the flist.  Seems to be becomming a bit of a trend. I should probably just fold up my tent and slip away now.

I appear to have acquired a brace of snowflakes. I know not what this signifies but thank you, krossero and audrarose - and now slipperieslope too - bless you all for your kindness. XXX

I just uploaded Foreign Exchange to the website. 208 MB (so it must have ads and trailers - apologies).

And I'll be doing a little more unfriending (Gods, I hate that word) later today. I have less and less time to spend on LJ these days and I'm doing an awful lot of skimming - there are a host of peeps and comms I rarely read now.

alibongo has a lovely big kitchen and a nice big table. I have a new bit of my fic to post but just haven't had time to read it through yet - Apologies also to betagoddess; I've been reading through your beta work and all looks fine n dandy. I will get back to you as soon as I can (sorry!) I'll try and get that bit of the story (it's only a little bit) up sometime today, but doubt if I'll write any more till after the weekend cos I'm having too much fun :D
suemc and I arrived from opposite ends of the country within about a half an hour of each other, and kicked off with wine and cheese in the garden and kinda went on as we started till about 3am.
Anyway, talk and coffee are happening - gotta go.

I just added calista_echo (one of my most favourite writers!), debrac, garettgal and therentgirls - (Hope none of you mind! I guess you can always unfreind me if you do )-:) - and aliassmithjones. ASJ. My very first love. My very first fanfic, indeed :D

Anyone else you'd recommend I should friend? heh heh heh.
