Hideous weather!

Well we're supposed to be driving back to Yorkshire right now but looking outside at the roaring gales and driving snow and thinking - M62 (thunder clap, organ chord, wolf howl) - and we're shaking our heads and staying home by the fire. The weather looks to be settling down tomorrow - well, here in the north anyway (sorry Snail, sorry Rhianne; it looks pretty nasty for you tomorrow) so we're staying another day. Good job we didn't let the stove go out last night.

I just went to investigate a draft - the house is double glazed and the stone walls are 2 feet thick, there shouldn't be a draft - and found a two inch hole in the floor by the door!!! Holy shit!

I see a shitload of amusing wank has blown up on TSStoryfinders ::snerk:: And such old wank, too. Some people just don't know when to let go, do they? ::sigh::

And on Radio 2, Jonathan Ross is pimping The Osmonds to John Barrowman; they're singing along together to 'Let Me In'. It's more than a little bizarre.

Yikes on the hole in the floor! I hope that won't be too much of a pain to repair...

And I'm crossing my fingers that the weather improves for you all over there...sounds awful.

Ah no; a little filler is all. It looks like the guys who fitted the double glazing may have cracked the stone and over time, a piece has worked free and fallen out - terrible draft coming through through there so we aim to fix it next time we're home.

The weather's not too bad here in the north today, just a little cold, damp and foggy - but I think the south is catching it badly today and we're due for more snow tomorrow when the wind turns northerly. )o:

How are things in NC? I'll never forget that snow; about a half an inch fell, it was all gone by lunchtime and the local news show was still talking about it a week later. I kinda got the impression it doesn't snow too often in Chapel Hill. *G*

It's been COLD here, a little early for it, but it's supposed to warm up to the 60's or 70's next week (Farenheit, not Celsius *G*). But fortunately we haven't had any weather to speak of. A little freezing rain Thursday, but since it was unexpected the news didn't cover it and the grocery stores all still had milk and bread. I'm worried it's going to be a hard winter, though. We need the precip like crazy, but it just gets so nuts here when the weather is bad...as you remember very well...*g*
