35 acres for $50,000!!! That's, what, just over £25,000! You couldn't buy a one room shed with no plumbing in the UK for that. Man. Our one and a half bedroom cottage in Lancashire is going on the market for $300,000. I'd guess the house + garden covers about 900 square feet, max.

ye-ah... there are advantages to being american... :-p of course if you add a house to that the whole thing goes up enormously. the sum is greater than the total of it's parts. add a 3bed/2bath house of decent construction worth $150k, and you're talking a good $350k for the whole shebang. better/ cheaper to buy the land separate, and add a $150k house to it. it's a thing.

but i love the area out there - it's pretty isn't it? once i find a place to buy, i'll have to invite you out exploring with me.
