It's raining again.

Really hard now, and I'm sitting here in my sweats... I've had a work out, was all up for a run; my legs were all ready for that run but it's  pissing down. I suppose if I were uber dedicated I'd go out anyway but I'm going to get drenched and the mud will be so slippy up on the moors and I'll probably end up crippling myself for life.

Excuses. Excuses. ::sigh::

So, trapped in the house as I am, I thought I'd have a crack at re-starting the long-neglected Academy  fic. I can't say the Muse is biting, cause she's not, but it does no harm to try. Maybe if I make myself write something I can get  the lazy cow off her fat arse and doing her job. Trouble is, it's been so long (the last time I posted an update was Jan 22nd! Shriek out!) I'm going to have to sit and read the whole darn thing through to remind myself what was happening, to whom and why and...

I really can't remember a lot of this. Did I really write it? Gosh golly gosh.

Anyway. Giving it a go. Here we go. Right. This is it. I'm doing it. I am... After I've had another cup of coffee. Then I will. Honest. promise. ::nods:: I can make a start by dragging the icon out of mothballs. Wheee! there he is. He's so pretty. *g*

I honestly do. I've rather lost my ficcish vibe; I'm not writing or reading it but I managed over 400 words so... there is hope. (o:

It is hard catching up though. It feels like reading someone else's fic. I can hardly believe I wrote it - I don't remember writing much of it at all.

I think of it often too, hon, but I've had real problems getting the inspiration to go on with it. I've given up on waiting for the Muse now, and going with sheer force of will to get it going again.

Anyway, I managed 437 words. Not a brilliant start, but a start.

Sometimes you do have to just drag the Muse in kicking and screaming. I've stretches where I just keep doggedly writing, even though I'm telling myself I'm probably going to cut all this later...

And I've had that feeling, too, of reading over something I wrote and not recognizing it. Happened more with my dissertation, but I've had it with fic.

Here's hoping the coffee works and your muse gets energized!

i'm just going to say that i love it when you say 'pissing down' - i giggle every time, because it sounds like... well, i'm sure it doesn't sound the same to my 'merkin ear as it does to your british one!

but i sympathize on the rain - we're into monsoon season over here, which can be described as 'hot, damned hot, blasted furn - F*CK!!! RAIN!!! - and... back to damned hot again...' sheesh.
