Chez [profile] alibongo with delightful fangurl company in the comely forms of friend-from-another-fandom Louise and [personal profile] suemc in which we ate long breakfasts, drank much tea, coffee and wine, ate Toblerones and Thorntons chocs, visited Southwell, bought doughnuts and sweeties, fed chickens, nursed cats, viewed much art and had cream teas.

In short, we did many things that involved eating and/or drinking.

We also watched Cruise of the Gods together - I firmly believe every fan should see CotG at least once before they die, it speaks to the fan inside like nothing else. I hadn't realised it was out on DVD and so many extras! I just ordered it so, bloopers, commentary and missing scenes next time we meet, my lovelies?

Sounds as though you had a lovely weekend - and all the better for the dreadful week that preceded it.

Ha.

I thought I'd be too knackered but everyone was the same - usually we're all up and about brightn early but this time we were all staggering up just before 10. Life's been a sequinned bitch in hot-pants for us all lately so it was, indeed, lovely to just chill with good company (and chocolate, the friend that never lets you down *g*)

That sounds very relaxing and a nice reward after your hard work all week.

Oh it was, it was - doubly hard to get back to wok this morning though. (o:

Mind where you're pining that thing. The bosom grows increasingly capacious and hard to miss when you're messing with sharp objects.

The weekend, as always, was a joy. I miss them all already... sniff

I'd never heard of Cruise of the Gods, but wathced that clip plus another one I found (where one of the fans gave the actor a stack of zines he'd written). It's almost painful! Will ask around here and see if anybody has it.

ever been involved in fandom at the attending-cons level, it's certainly a bitter-sweet experience. My friends were laughing whilst cringing.

It's quite an angsty little film, there's a lot of darkness in the comedy. I highly rec it to anyone, but especially anyone who's been there - it deserves to be seen more. I love Galaxy Quest too, but this, to me, is much more real and I much prefer it to GQ .

It's available from Amazon UK, I have no idea if you'd be able to get it anywhere else - maybe ebay? I really do rec it mightily. (o:
