And there was much rejoicing. *g*
Today - little bits of places that got missed painted pink! (OMG, that pink is so damn pink!)
Stairs and landing painted a most pleasing shade of mint green.
The tiles re-grouted - they look OKish, a shame they don't match and I made such a bad job of fixing them the first time around but I'm not about to re-tile the whole damn kitchen.
The stone floor in the kitchen attacked with the most pleasing 'stone renovator' - ::cue evil laugh:: It's a sort of foaming, acidic shit that does wonderful things to stone floors. It reckons to be 'kind to the environment' too but I can't imagine how (it makes York stone fizz! Really!) - it has no effect on the original (poss Victorian) stains that've always been there (whatever did they drop on them? O:) but in general, it scrubs stone up like nothing else. Now we have the de-humidifier running full-blast down there in hope of getting it dry enough to put the sealant on tomorrow.
There are still jobs outstanding - after several, hugely frustrating attempts incorporating methods of ever-increasing creativity (also much yelling and screaming and the use naughty words) we've failed to get the tiles that fell off the edge of the sink to stick back. It's probably going to end up a much bigger, more complex job than we accounted for. ::sigh:: Likewise, there's no sign of the new doors a local chap is supposed to be knocking up for us for upstairs so we haven't been able to p[aint the woodwork up there. We still need new tiles for the back of the stove - can't find anything suitable so far.
But - the rest of the work on the kitchen floor aside, all the main jobs are now done. Tomorrow we go shopping - again (sigh) for a light for the stairs and some new curtains. Sunday, we have to clean and put the house back together again (O:!) but... almost there and the relief is mighty. I'm freshly showered. There are olives. There is wine. And it's Friday!
