Our snow is not deep but crisp and dry for sure - what wee bit we have has frosted over delightfully which makes getting oot and aboot a bit of a bugger but is very lovely to look at if, like me, you work on your arse, tucked up at home.

Writerly work has been done, indeed, after a minor blip of plot-based angst yesterday, it's progressing rather splendidly.

Entanglement is coming on very well. After some garment-rending over the plot, I found that keeping to the gist and just banging out the already-prepped chapters independently of each other is working well. The subtleties of the plot are emerging out of the writing as I'd hoped. I still need to roll up my sleeves and tackle the sequence of events but on the whole, progress is pleasing

With all the extra work I'm ploughing into the novel, progress on epic-fic Blue has been less than sterling but I got the chapter notes out yesterday and 800w done today - it's only a short one so, all being well, I should have the next chapter finished by Sunday as per so, to my utter amazement, I can claim, still on schedule. How unexpected

I'm just taking a short break for tea and crumpets before gently taking my plot to task. I hope I won't be forced to resort to the cricket bat again. Then it's wine, olives, garlic bread, pasta, mushrooms and bread and butter pudding all the way as we run, full-tilt and head down into the soft, yielding belly of the weekend

Oops! Almost forgot to say, it's FRIDAY!!! people! May it shine with glittering, RAINBOW lights my darlings; raising a mug of Earl Grey to you all.

Wheeeee! ::bounces in and leaves snowy puddles all over your LJ::

You have words - all written and everything! Yay! Go you!

And it's Friday! And I'm abusing exclamation points and I don't care, because it's Friday!

I'm pouring the wine, any...second...now. It's almost dark, yes?

Cheers hon - have a great weekend. Don't fall into any drifts...

What drifts? I see no drifts, alas. Snow here is very thin, glittery and frosty more than snow; it's a clear, blue night, like a Christmas card. I'm waxing here, but it s rather lovely.

I have to have a quick cook and a work out before I can break out the booze but come 6.30 I shall be enjoying a glass of the same in my bath the company of Sandi Toksvig and guests. ::smiles naughtily::

Enjoy your wine and enjoy your snow, my lovely. Sending sparkly, Friday love. XXX

Wow! I've just put in 4 hours at the writerly coal face myself. I have tea which will soon, as if by magic, metamrphose into a glass of wine.

It's simply chucking it with snow out there. For most of the day it's been melting as it touched ground but now it's sticking hard and fast. ::meeps gently::

Oo er. How weird is this? I just read this saying it was chucking it with snow, looked outside and we have started now - all very small, light and fluffy!
::cue Twilight Zone music::
And good for you on the wine. Magic is good!

I'm just getting over a short-lived but virulent tummy flu, so won't be eating much in the way of celebratory foods any time soon, but have a wonderful weekend! *g*

It always amazed me that you can build a plot before actually writing it - for me, it just an idea, and then I dive into writing hoping I'll find the other side of it :-0 Though strangely enough for me the evening before the surgery I'd finished 'How to write a damn good novel II' by James Frey and suddenly I not only realized what I was writing about in one of my original stories, but could actually write a real plot to the end of the story :-)

I rarely plot my fics - I begin with an idea and go with it but a 200,000+ word novel with a very complex plot and an even more complicated premise needs a little structure before you begin. Or at least, I do. :o)
